PLus mad delays on other orders, is it really that hard?

I always relied on this service but has it recently gone to sh^t or is it just me?

I usually get my Amazon stuff delivered to work as it's a whole hassle to get it delivered to my apartment. Ordered a book of Seamus Heaney poetry the other week and the dumb cunt driver just leaves it on the ground outside the branch (usually if the branch is closed they'll try again the next day). There's homeless in the area, so of course I arrive the next day to see the package all ripped open to shreds. Then look over and see the book of poetry fucked off to the side. Gave me a good laugh thinking about the thief being all excited to get a free package, getting it open, and then, "Ahh for fuck sake, POETRY!?"

I posted about this in the gig section about 2 weeks ago. Good riddance to the cunts they were awful to deal with trying to get money back any time a show was cancelled. Now they've run off with half a million in other people's money.

Quote from: leatherface on June 14, 2026, 09:21:58 PMJust me so.  No, not based in Ireland.  First time with an issue but I guess depends on the seller and/or delivery company they have opted for. I'll get my coat.....

Not Amazon but many times I have got the "package coming between 11.30 and 12.30 today" from DPD only for it to hit 6pm and still nothing. Then all of a sudden you get an email saying the driver called and nobody was home so he couldn't deliver even though I would have been working from home all day.

In my case it was always just a lazy driver who wanted to knock off early which is annoying as fuck given the prices we are forced to pay for postage these days.

I read a story from Texas a few months ago about a person that kept stealing packages off a porch so the woman who owned the house filled a box with black widows and left it there for him. He ended up getting badly bit and tried to sue her.

Without even checking, that is 100% guaranteed not a true story.

Well our resident fact checker has spoken and I stand corrected.

My fact-checking skills are the stuff of urban legend  :D

Back before Covid in my reckless buying everything on vinyl or cassette phase, I was off work sick or hungover so sitting at home, and I hear the letter box go, so I potter up the hall and pick up a sorry we missed you leaflet, I open the door and caught the postie before he took off, he never knocked, never even had the package, says I can collect it from sorting office tomorrow, sorting office used to only open between 08.00 and 13.00 mon to fri so not great for people with normal 8-4.30 jobs, pretty much explained this to him, and that the previous postman used to just leave my packages in recycling bin and leave a note in letter box to give a heads up for years, says not his problem, so took a pic of the missed call leaflet and his smug head sitting in the an post van and said I'll be here all day, lo and behold it got dropped up later that evening by some random dude (different postman on way home maybe?) around dinner time, not gonna lie, thought I was gonna have to take a 2nd day off to collect :) He didn't last long and we got a new postman who was sounder and on the ball with stashing packages again.
Chlanna Nan Con Thigibh A So's Gheibh Sibh Feoil

I had a similar experience in Galway a good few years ago. I heard post come through the letterbox, letters only even though I was expecting a parcel (had taken a day off to get it, it was worth a few bob). Saw the van drive up the road, it was a cul de sac so I waited for him to come back.

While I was sitting on the wall I saw some litter in the lawn, I pick it up and it's a piece of the 'could not deliver' note. He'd ripped it up and thrown it on the lawn, rather than bring the parcel to the door and ring the bell - he had the parcel as I found out when I stood in front of the van to stop him from driving off.

He tried the 'there was nobody in' bit 'til I told him I saw him throwing the note on the lawn (I didn't), told him he wasn't miving 'til I got my parcel. Another one who didn't last long, I rang the sorting office and complained about the cunt and didn't feel a bit guilty about it. Prick.

This was partly the reason for my og rant, got a similar message,  "could not be delivered" , load of crap as I was at home all day. Seriously,  is it that difficult to deliver something? If I can get chinese food delivered on a Saturday night what's stopping anyone else. Lazy , non working fucktards is inevitably the issue.

I remember buying 10 CDs from H in the old forum days, came out to see my door handle sagging. Oh, it's the package of CDs hanging precariously from the handle via elastic.

Like if you're gonna just ditch it at my door just put it on the ground (I was end of terrace and cul-de-sac, so any foot traffic in front of my old gaff were people strictly coming to my door, wasn't worried about theft), not leave a package full of plastic cases hanging.

Kids sleep regression. 18 month old suddenly waking up every night at around 1am being wired for hours. Been non-stop for 3 weeks.

Cuntishness.

My 9 month old is going through something similar. He's been waking at 2.30 and we can't get him back down til around 5. Then it's up for work at 6. Good times...

Fair play, lads. That first stretch is nuts! The sleep deprivation is nothing to be trifled with  you'll get through it. I'm nearly 7 years in, and I think I'm finally starting to catch up a bit.

Having kids literally sounds like a living hell to me lol
