What in the name of linkedin AI induced brainrot is lunch and learn  Some people really are too far gone with playing sycophant at work...

Where I am the IT department sends out fake phishing emails at random intervals. Anyone cognitively impaired enough to hand over their login credentials is stung with mandatory cyber security training courses, which is highly amusing imo.

Having worked in IT for a long, long time, I can honestly say you can never be complacent about how stupid some people really are. Did you see the news about Stryker in Cork a couple of weeks ago? Some thick cunt clicked a link. The IT lads are just covering themselves. There are always idiots who will click links, no matter how hard you try to educate people. They're just getting themselves to a point where no-one can say they didn't try to inform and educate the staff, because IT is easy to blame when shit goes wrong and blame culture is trendy in many companies. Then the finger of blame can, rightly, be pointed in the direction of the idiot. IT can be cunty to work in. Nobody says thanks when everything just works and nobody appreciates the effort it takes for things to just work. When things go wrong, for whatever reason, you wouldn't believe how keen some cunts are to beat down a path to your door whining like the unhelpful cunts they are but, really, just looking to be seen being proactive in this shitty look-at-me culture we live in.

An IT langball in our office introduced it first so we could all "learn" about phishing etc.
It was expected that everyone in the office turn up for it, on our time like, really???  FUCK RIGHT OFF YOU IT CUNT! Big wigs came around the floor to check that everyone was heading to the canteen for it.This is not what Connolly fought for! I was the only person that didn't go to. No thanks, my lunch break is my lunch break

That was months ago. But they did another this week via Teams. Again, fuck right off!

Ha Ha!

James would turn in his grave

We had 1 at a former workplace - "Brown Bag Lunch" or something. You bring your lunch (in a bag) to your laptop screen. Basically pop out to Centra, & get a roll, & rush back to your desk to listen to nonsense

Fight The Power Quirkey boy !!!

Records with no mention of the year it was released/created/re-issued even.

I store my stuff by category, then by year (further releases by a band follow the 1st release year)

Jaysus, I've stuff now I'd say where something released in 2015 is before something from 2005! Especially my doom/stoner stuff
Drives me up the feckin walls

I must admit, I do google it, & then sort like a librarian  :abbath:

Ha, I have no issue with IT training, but strangely enough I have a serious issue where they insist on using our personal time for it! Schedule it on company time, not my time. I like the idea of mandatory training for failing simple tests

Wardy, I'm sorry but your filing system is mental! I find sorting by the number of tracks on an album much easier.

I sort by barcode number. It's the most sensible approach.

I've been thinking lately of switching to by spine colour

"What colour will I listen to today? ... mmmmm"

The pile of black though!

We get sent test exercise spam stuff that we're logged as recognising for reporting. It's easy for me, I even report our generic CEO emails as phising mails in the hope I can get the cunt blocked and kicked out. I get enough shite emails without all the fake encouragement crap from those sorts.

Funnily enough, IT sent an email this morning with the results of their most recent fake phishing email test. Sales team came out on top as usual with the highest number of people clicking and entering credentials. I don't know if there are any repercussions for them beyond having to sit through some instructional video, but it must me mightily frustrating for IT when this keeps happening.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, marketing and sales are the special olympics of business disciplines.

Fuck me that is hardcore trying to get you to work through your lunches. Especially in that frustrating corporate way where they try and make it sound like it's fun. Lunch and learn my absolute balls. Do you work private sector? Sounds like some private sector bullshit...

I use to have Lunch and learns in all of the places I worked in when I lived in Canada but for the most part it was optional and food was bought for everyone hence the term lunch and learn.

It use to be hilarious because all of the Chinese in any of the offices I was in would go to every single L&L so they could fill up on food and not have to buy anything else for the rest of the day  . My guess is it originated in the US as Canada's entire work model or whatever you want to call it is based off Americas one. Shitty holidays, awful worker rights and very little work / life balance.

Collection is alphabetical,then chronological.

All nice and neat, easy to find.

Unlike another board member who simply chucks his stuff on a shelf randomly. I got fed up spending ten minutes trying to find a CD anytime I was at his place.  😄
