I was in Tesco yesterday to purchase a weekend sup and left. No deals, fuck all selection.

That Oettinger Pils in Lidl is very decent for €1.09 a 500ml can. Very drinkable and it's 4.7%....

Durlacher Hof in Dunnes of all places. It's lumped in with Tennents and all that other piss but it's a serious beer for the price.

Slab of Guinness 26 euro in Dunnes too, ends today I think.

Getting a few beers tonight and I saw a beer by White Hag called Black Forest Pastry Stout, I've always wondered about these gimmicky cake/milkshake flavoured beers so I picked up a can.

It smells and tastes like a gateau but way too sweet and nearly impossible to finish, so I expected them to be gimmicky shite and they are.

I'll stick with my bottles of Leffe  :abbath:.

I didn't like it but I'm starting to get a taste for Heineken

Had a can of Connemara Ale yesterday, a new one from a new brewery I gather. Nice citrusy aftertaste, very summery & refreshing. €2.49 for a 330cl can in Lidl.

A bit pricey for a 330ml can, but I suppose it's an independent private brewery.

Yeah, I wouldn't normally go for that but I'd just read about them the day before and was curious.

Think there's a couple different versions of Heineken. Don't ever drink it here but I've quite enjoyed it abroad.

Is there a big difference do you know?

The version here is a little bit weaker anyway. Wouldn't be a big lager drinker to be honest, much prefer stouts and weissbiers!

Went to a pub in Dublin yesterday for the France match and they were charging 7.10 per pint. World's ending lads.

€7.10? Rip off. Temple Bar?
