The whole Protestant thing is supposedly nonsense anyway, especially now that Jameson is owned by Pernod.

Nothing nicer than Powers in a hot whiskey.

It's amazing with a few cloves and honey. Hmm I might venture to supervalu for cloves.

Just suppin' on an O'Hara's session IPA now. Melon, lemon & lime flavoured. Tasty drop.

Jaysus I dunno, I can't drink the Powers at all. Do like the Bushmills and the Jameson. I'd drink either of those neat no bother

I'm not a whiskey drinker at all, it ruins my stomach (once puked blood after a single Paddy's), a hot Powers in the winter is as close as I'd get.

Well if I'm being honest I usually only turn to the whiskey after having a good few cans already, I wouldn't be a connoisseur of any description. Can't handle 90 percent of the whiskey.

Powers, Paddy, Bushmills, Blackbush, all whiskeys in fact, have one thing in common.
They all turn me into a raving, dangerously violent, fucking lunatic.
Can't touch the stuff at all, same with brandy.

I'm like that on vodka. Whiskey makes me haopy and giddy.

I find it amazing how certain spirits drive us all quare but others don't, even with the same %. What sort of interaction goes on there between the alcohol, the other ingredients and the person drinking it?

I don't know the hell, its a funny one allright. Brown spirits, like whiskey and brandy, turn me paranoid and vicious, and I'm usually a very happy go lucky kinda lad like.
I can drink clear spirits like vodka, gin and me auld friend poitin till they come out me ears and I would't say boo to a goose.
I do often hear people saying gin depresses the life out of them, I'm the opposite, half a bottle of Gordons and I'm the life of the fecking party

Buckfast was the one that drove me mental. The last time I drank a bottle, I was told the following morning, by a good mate, that I had a good right hook. Apparently I took umbridge to something he said and decked him, I had no memory of it. The same night I was apparently jumping over a bonfire and and pointed a (thankfully unloaded) shotgun at another mate as he walked in the door, scaring the bejeesus out of him. That was about 25 years ago.

Spirits never had that effect on me, rather beer makes me belligerent, argumentative and fucking stupid.

Happy Sint Patti's Day folks.....

Hitting the cayans soon.....  :abbath:

It's pointless being off Paddy's Day with work the next day. Twould be handier finishing early on Paddy's, go on the lash and recover the next day. Bah humbug.
