Ha, when my Croatian mate moved here a couple of years ago he bought a pair of Guinness pint glasses on his first visit to Dublin.
He landed in to our gaff all proud as punch that evening with one of them for me. I opened the kitchen cabinet and showed him the finest pint glass selection this side of the River Liffey.
"We don't buy pint glasses in this country son"  ;D

On a selection of Svysturys beers tonight. For some bizarre reason the offy in town has an extensive range of Lithuanian beers. Would never have taken Lithuania for a beer loving country but these are absolutely quality. Dortmunder, Ekstra, Baltijos...all as good as your standard regional German beers if you ask me.

I got them in my local offy in Ballinasloe but if there's a Polonez near you they should have them.

Cool, might keep an eye open when I'm out n about.

Anyone see the O'Hara's stout nitro cans in shops yet? Not really interested in ordering beer online, prefer to just get it in person, and this stuff is delicious from the bottle so I'd be eager to try the creamier version

The O'Hara's stuff I've tried is all fairly middling. The Hop Adventure is the nicest one I've tried but the Irish Pale Ale is absolutely mank.

Have you had the Leann Folláin? 6% stout. Fucking lovely, one I get frequently if I just want a nice rich stout

That O'Hara's Stout in a bottle is absolutely divine.

I have, and I know it's considered one of the better stouts, but I prefer the Solas, Galway Hooker or even O'Shea's ones. Was big into stouts for a coupla years, not so much the last while, but a simple pint of Guinness in an aulde man's pub can't be bate.

I have been drinking beer for a long time and very few things have put me on my ass like Svyturys did. It has a slap like a loose barn door in the wind off if it.

Lovely though.

You're in Cork, right? The Bierhaus has it a €3.20. It's in those 440ml cans though. O'Hara's along with making great beer had yet to fall into that small can hipster bollix.

I'm looking forward to it myself. Leann Folláin is one of the great stouts.

I had the opposite thought about their single hopped Hop Adventure series. I found them boring and or incomplete.

The Irish Pale ale, in my opinion, is pretty solid and does what a pale is supposed to - malt driven sweetness with a little bit of bitter hop. It would blow the taste buds off you like a lot of things on the market now but these are more modern styles that have been dry hopped to fuck to make them as bitter as possible.

Hah, and there I'd not rate the Solas one at all at all, for whatever reaosn! Taste is mad. The draught pint from a pub stands alone alright though. Even there, while I'd always enjoy a Guinness, Beamish would be my top choice.

Excellent. Had been thinking of checking Bradley's after work. The Beamish in the last post gives away the Cork if nothing else

Haha, I'd actually lean towards Murphy's given the choice but Guinness is more readily available. Taste is indeed mad.
