Do it! It will be like The Return of The Fear but way more depressing lol

Been rationing my White Hag stuff with bottles of Carlsberg. Down to 5 cans of Bran & Sceolan. Think I'm gonna give Craft Central a go this week.

4 bottles of 500ml Franziskaner for 6 euro in Lidl at the moment, probably the tastiest beer out there!

Bah, none in my local Lidl! However! They do have those big fuck off bags (450g) of KP peanuts for €3.69 and sure I have a few 660ml bottles of Moretti already ice cold in the fridge.

Sorted for snacks and sups this evening :abbath:

Picked up a few Brown Bear and Roadworks IPAs in Aldi. Doing an experiment in the name of science to see which I prefer.

Uffffffffff, both are delicious. The BB just shades it fo me though? Serious bite to it, both in taste and strength.  :abbath:
And for the princely sum of €1.99.... :abbath:

Brown Bear for me too. Their double IPA is lovely too but would blow your head.

Brown Bear is beautiful stuff! The double would blow the skull off you alright, though. I like putting away decent volumes before getting proper pissed. Siege level, pint-between-sets type beer drinking. You can't do that for long with strong stuff. Still a nice treat.

Aldi's the best at alcohol. You're spoiled for choice on cheap, tasty stuff without needing to resort to their Galahad, like me. Again I'm just a fan of gulping beer that isn't too strong in taste or percentage, I find it enjoyable.

Their Rheinbacher is unbelievable. Best can for the price in the country.

I'm another in the Brown Bear camp. The Crafty Brewing Company Red is decent and I'd happily put away a hape of the RheinbacheR weissber too.

What's the story with Galahad? Is it one of those nondescript lagers? Seen a lad freaking out one evening as they had none left

G'had is pure bottom shelf, sort of has a sherbet buzz off it instead of being fizzy, you'd put them back no hassle and get a minimal hangover offnit so they're alright for a session but fairly low tier all the same.  I say this as a lad who is fond of cheap multipacks of crispy cold lagers.

Gone back to the Bavaria lately, they were 8 for 10 lately again, still hits the spot.  Bit less sore on the head than the few Karpackie.  Good summer drinking in them.

I wish I was still able for the IPAs for the variety available but they absolutely cut the stomach off me and I get an absolutely amplified hangover from them too.  Even 3 or 4 bottles would leave me feeling way rougher than the lager.  Still get a few nice bottles of lager here and there but a few Karps / Prazky / Bav / Stella do the trick

Agreed on the rheinbacher pilsner. 4 cans of quality pilsner for less than a fiver, it's like being in Munich.

Best supermarket beers around currently - in my humble opinion - are the Crafty Brewing Company's American Wheat Pale Ale (red/blue label) and their IPA (green label). Their American Brown Ale (yellow/brown) is good too and their Lager (blue). At less than €2 a good, not to be passed on. I wake up with a slightly iffy head after a relatively small amount of these.

Spaten in Aldi is also top notch - as previously mentioned.

My local SuperValu is doing three cans of Beamish for a fiver too. From a can I think it's the best of the "Big Three".

On the other end of the scale I currently can't get enough of Whirl Domination by To Øl (about €20 a six-pack) and Ace Of Haze DDH Cryo from Black's Of Kinsale (€24 - €28 a sixer).

Been enjoying a few Boyne Brewhouse pale ales lately. 4 for €10 in Tesco, sound.

In Tesco today so picked up a Foxes Rock American Style IPA,  Sam Adams, Smithwicks Pale Ale and some other red ale I've yet to open. The former two are spot on, the Smithwicks is only ok.

Sam Adams is awful stuff IMO, tried it the other night. The others are grand alright. Having a Fuller's London Pride now, nice.
