Bonkers, €3.25 in the SuperValu near me, was that stuff around €2.30 or something like that around 2 years ago.

It's like buying a Magnum ice cream as a kid, a rare treat indeed!

Guinness zero cans. Blow me down with a feather, they taste like the real deal. Let's see how the hoop is in the morning.

On the plus side, the local sells 4 large bottles of Extra Stout for a tenner for at least the last 5 years if not longer. Place has been through 3 or 4 franchises over that time and that offer has never changed. Same on large bottles of Smithwicks as well but I only go for those on a hot day, so very rarely, naturally

Actually this sort of a peeve as much as a nectar post but what is the fucking problem with selling single cans of things these days? It's all multipacks or nothing. Bottles no problem as singles, but I'm a can man

Was in the off licence on the way home from work there and what did I spot the lad packing out onto the unsuspecting (and I suspect soon-to-be-unused!) shelf?

When the Government pushed through that increase on drink a few years ago under the guise of it being for health reasons was something not brought in then that single cans couldn't be sold anymore? They were trying to pass it off like when they got rid of 10 boxes of fags claiming it would make people give up because people who bought 10 boxes won't buy 20's instead and smoke more they will just give up.

I have definitely seen single cans for sale in places since then but nowhere near what you use to see. The only Guinness can that is nice is Nitro surge all the others are piss especially the draught cans.

In Canada you could get 330ml bottles of draught which were unreal and they didn't have a widget. I Have never seen them anywhere else.

Hapes of single cans in Dunnes and Tesco offies near me, albeit not the old name brands like Heineken, Bud, etc.

Wine, how long does it last? A mate turned up with a box (six bottles, not a carton like), it was only after he'd left that I noted the label said 2006. The labels are a bit manky, like they been left somewhere for an extended period, which they obviously had. Just wondering would it still be alright? Corked bottles.

I don't want to ask him as it'd come across as ungrateful. He's been in Hong Kong for the last 2½ years, might have had them stashed in his house here. I'm guessing he picked them up on his way to mine.

I know that it can last for decades if properly stored, I don't think this is anything that flash though.

18 year old wine. I'm not dying so far.

Brave man!
