It could even be spelled guhey. I never seen the word written down but it's what we called them as kids.

Yeah as far as I know 'tackies' is unknown outside the borders of Limerick.

When I was in college in Cork (having been there only once in my life before that) some of their lingo bewildered me aswell. 'He's odd with you because you pure flah'd the situation like'.

Scotland is probably rightly viewed as where you find the most unintelligible dialect of English in these islands but I defy any Johnny Blow-In to spend a fe W days in Knocknaheeny or Darndale and understand the vocabulary never mind the accent!

Man, tipp town is surely top 5 material for most depressing places on the island. Kilkenny Bigger Town is a grand spot to be fair

Subsequently fucked it up completely by getting brave and packing the bowl out twice as bad as planned the next morning, having to talk myself down from a whitener while in the middle of town, total disarray, dose of the stills and general impending doom for breakfast.  Not ideal.
