The first bunch of hikes I did in Canada were terrifying because you're not used to anything dangerous being out there back home (aside from the odd smick). All of a sudden a bear/mountain lion/moose could walk out from anywhere!

Yeah when I was living in about 10 years ago all the trails around grouse mountain used to be closed every so often because of a mountain lion that was roaming around there. I only really got into hiking seriously when I came to new Zealand though, and thankfully it's similar to Ireland here, not much wildlife to be worried about.

Beetroot relish from Aldi. Threw it on a chicken & salad wrap there, gamechanger.

Also: radishes are underrated as a salad ingredient.

Radishes are class. Aldi have a chilli pickle relish type of thing out. Fucking sensational. Class in a wrap or sandwich, or as a dip for steak

Radishes are class in grilled chicken ciabattas.  Bit of rocket in there too and tiny bit of thin sliced red onion.

Finally figuring out the bug in your gear. I have a digital setup for guitar and one patch was quieter volume than the others. Holy fuck it took me two solid hours of trial and error and troubleshooting to figure out why but I got there in the end. Gig on Saturday too, so just in time!

I think I've had that, tasty stuff alright.

Chinese that's been sitting in the fridge overnight, or even just for a couple of hours, taken out and had cold is superior to fresh, warm Chinese.

And I'm referring to takeaway food as opposed to trafficked humans.

Is it not a congealed mess? I've a mate who'd go with you there but I'd have to reheat it. Cold pizza now, that's a different matter.

Can you get a good chinese out there? (also referring to the food).

Speaking of Chinese food, the new menu from my Chinese takeaway of choice just came through the letterbox. This should be in Pet Peeves but fucking hell the prices have gone through the roof, almost an €8 jump for my regular order. I don't think it'll get much use TBH.

Yeah man. The Asian population over here is one of the biggest demographics.

I guess I should clarify, I meant like the greasy, deep-fried takeaway version you get back home as opposed to the 'proper' Chinese food you get pretty much everywhere else.

Ah no, Irish Chinese is by far the superior option. Chips, chicken balls and curry sauce from a tin- the stuff of culinary dreams  :-*
