The simple pleasure of going away for a few days followed by the simple pleasure of coming home again. Days of driving followed by a nice cup of tea sitting on your own couch, soon to be followed by climbing into your own bed. Bliss.

The usual thing: couldn't open it when pissed last night so after a lot of pulling that resulted in some kind of Gordian knot scenario, it was thrown in the corner. No luck this morning as my nails are too short to get a purchase on it. Ended up picking it open with a corkscrew.

Hiking.

Wee lad is only 5 so we're a bit limited in what we can do, but yesterday we made it up to a spot with a 360° view of the Alps, including Mont Blanc in the distance. One of the rare occasions where awesome is the literally appropriate word. Still plenty of snow up on the heights too, so he was delighted to be able to make a snowman in the blazing sunshine.
