These pleasures are getting less simple as they go!

The birds were singing this morning. Was beautiful

Put me in mind of Thom Yorke's "Dawn Chorus" from that Anima album he did, but the birds were not as melancholy at all thank god

I saw an eagle in work today, a Little Eagle to be precise which is one I had never heard of let alone seen. A stunning little thing about the size of a buzzard. It hung around for ages eating a smaller bird. I wonder if it is breeding close by, but what a treat to see.

Sitting outside, watching the sun go down, drinking wine on a Wednesday evening, then coming in and realising you finished the bottle. Fuck work tomorrow, we will go slowly through everything.

I have a week off work so we are doing a road trip up to Canberra, stopping off in a few other places on the way there and back. Pleasure enough there, says you. We left yesterday evening and the first CD I put on was Black Sabbath's 'Tyr'. The young lad in his car seat happily sat there singing along to it much to my amusement. Having had it on in the background many many times over the past year or whatever t has clearly wormed its way in

Edit.  Day two driving today and the young lad had Number Blocks in the phone, a cartoon about counting and multiplying etc.  There was a song and the voice reminded me of someone... it took me a minute... he sounds like Fenriz on the Isengard and Coffin Storm stuff!

Nice!

Its a great feeling being a Dad hearing your young fella/young one singing a tune

Nice, I've finally started bringing the pup around too. Iron Man, Zero the Hero and under the sun are now on the request list. It sure beats his mother's shit taste.

I don't push it on him but it's always there in the background so he picked it up by osmosis. His 'favourite bands' are Sabbat (Japan) because of their frog imagery and because he can remember their name, and Motörhead because he can recognise the logo. Songs? What are they?

My oldest is eight and all her friends are mad into Taylor Swift so I've been trying to steer her away, because it makes long drives fucking unbearable listening to that

She's liking the lighter/poppier stuff from Devin Townsend and Mastodon so hopefully not too far off SYL and Remission!

It'll be Tomb of the Mutilated in no time.
