You're not missing anything.

Goatsnake - Vol. 1

One of the Patton ones is on the album itself, isn't it? Haven't heard it in years, but no, you're missing nothing.

Dead Congregation - Purifying Consecrated Ground

An all time DM favourite
What a band. Big fat slithering riffs. Hope they grace us with a new one soon. Six years already (!) since Promulgation of the Fall. (which is in the listening pile for tomorrow).

I slightly prefer Grave Miasma. At the level of greatness both bands have achieved I'm really just splitting hairs.
I'd say I probably lean towards DC, but yeah as you qualified it, two great bands. I still haven't gotten around to Endless Pilgrimage, must grab a copy from Invictus soon.
Quiet on the listening front today with just,
Altar of Perversion / Mordaehoth - Tributo a Der Blutharsch. Its good stuff, it's the CD edition with a few tracks by Der Blutharsch added.

''Endless Pilgrimage' is fantastic. Maybe their best yet.

Burned 2 discs last night. Sepultura live in Barcelona and a compilation of their covers from Blood Rooted and The Roots of Sepultura and I have been fucking hopping off them since.

For years I thought they were old news, but I have to say when they were good they were fucking septic

'Blood Rooted' is kind of obscure even though some of the tracks have appeared elsewhere. I had no idea that there was a track on it with Mike Patton and Jonathan Davis(?!), and another Patton track besides, have never heard them.

I think Sepultura did great cover versions back in the day. The Mike Patton track on Blood Rooted, "Mine" is not bad, but the one from Roots, "Lookaway" with Jonathan Davis is fairly bad. I watched a youtube video of Patton turning up in San Francisco to guest with the Cavaleras on Lookaway and it was fucking atrocious. Unusual for Patton to turn up and make things worse, but he managed it.

Picked up Therapy? - Semi Detached for 1.50 in Dealz today. Is it any good? I'm a bit apprehensive about putting myself through it. I don't remember hearing any much good said about it back in the day

It's good alright, but not great.

I love it, aside from Don't Expect Roses which is pish.

Konvent: Puritan Masochism.

Yer wan has some voice. Tunes are decent, great riffs but not too adventurous.

The Black Dahlia Murder - Miasma

Flies is a particular favourite.

Septicflesh- Titan.

Messiah in the Abyss - Evocation

It's a good record.

I threw it on going for a spin in the car and it was surprisingly good to be fair to it. I think it is lacking Fyfe Ewing though. He would have elevated a lot of these tunes. I can also see why I wasn't interested back in the day when I heard Church of Noise as the lead single, although I think it's grand now. Definitely well worth the 1.50.

Also picked up Radiohead - Hail to the Thief, which I have never heard a note of so hopefully that will be equally worth the 1.50

Dealz is great. I often buy household supplies I don't need, just because. Their sweets selection is great too.
