Wolves In The Throne Room – Thrice Woven

Some great sweeping atmosphere/melodies in parts

Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance through to Ram It Down... a notable slide in quality as you go along

Had to put on Painkiller just to straighten things out

Green Druid - Asken Blood
Eliminator - Ancient Light
Darkthrone - Pre-Historic Metal

British Steel
Fuck yeah  :abbath:

Top top form after such a hefty lay off.

Necros Christos-triune impurity rites

This was a big deal 20 or so years ago. They were good times in the death metal scene and in the Irish scene. I haven't listened to this album in probably 15 years. To be honest it's aged a bit. I was listening to 90s Immolation earlier and this stuff is weak in comparison. A bit of a fad band probably.

NC always sounded like a weak sauce facsimile of some of the classic boyos.

NP - Pestilence - Consuming Impulse.
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes.
Adramelech - Psychostasia.

Morast - Fentanyl

I completely disagree with both comments above regarding Necros Christos. I think Triune remains a dark, moody and evil sounding album. Domedon Dexomedon was a great way to finish up as well. Not as dark or evil in tone, but the huge production and really catchy songs was enough to make me happy. They were phenomenal live in Dublin. That gig was a high point of that whole era for me. Might have to lob on Triune tomorrow  8)

Budgie: In For The Kill!

New Converge "Hum of the Heart" or whatever its called. Far more interesting than the other lp they put out this year, but I just can't fully get past my irrational hatred of Jacob Bannon. Or Converge fan boys.

What's up with Bannon? I've never seen him interviewed.

Executioner: Metal Up Your Ass demo 1985
Xecutioner: Demo 1986, Demo 1987

Early Obituary recordings, the first one is more thrash than DM but the chug is there.

Slayer: Live From Bochum 1985

The live show from the 40th anniversary Hell Awaits reissue. Rough & ready but suitably vicious.

Edit: Oh for fuck's sake, there's a drum solo. Piss off.
