Iron Maiden - No Prayer for the Dying
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Iron Maiden - The X Factor (I've always liked the darker aspects of this album.  It is too long though, has some terrible songs but it still has some merit in my ears. The Aftermath, for example, is a gem of a track)
Iron Maiden - Virtual XI (1 classic in the Clansman, Futureal is a good opening rocker and I really like When Two Worlds Collide but it is poor pickings after that... But how many times did they have have to tell us not to look to the eyes of a stranger)

Ennio Morricone - Once Upon A Time In America

Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears
(on 2xLP, it's 57 mins long, so needed on 2 slabs!)

2 great albums

Iron Maiden: The Number Of The Beast

Tried the alternate running order from the other thread, it just sounds... wrong but kinda works nonetheless.

Extreme Noise Terror: Phonophobia
Havok: V

Tower - Let There Be Dark

Not usually a fan of modern trad metal, but Tower have a rough edge that a lot of other acts lack. Also the singer has serious fucking pipes.

Cannibal Corpse - Kill.
Therapy ? - Infernal Love.
Metallica - Kill 'Em All.

Been meaning to give that Tower a go, thanx for remimder

Godflesh - "Streetcleaner". One of those albums I've owned for 20+ years and never clicked with. Took a notion to give it a whirl today and it's a beaut  8)

Unleashed - "Shadows in the Deep". Mainly for the Venom cover.

The remastered version of Streetcleaner lifts it up another level.

Cobalt - Slow Forever 8.5/10
In 2016 the reborn, revamped Cobalt left mouths agape, around here anyway, with this 84 minute slab of sludge/southern rock/blues/prog that affectively buried past Black Metal leanings and took the band in a whole new direction. Let's say more Today Is The Day/Tool as opposed to Takke/Tsjuder.

Dark Tranquillity - Atoma 8/10
The latest DT left me pretty nonplussed to be honest but this came off the shelf this week and I've surprisingly spun it numerous times. The Band have been incorporating that cold Paradise Lost melancholy into their Melodeath for years now and this was the culmination of that back in 2016. Looks like the new one is back on the shopping list again so.

Sargeist - Unbound 7.5/10
The first sign of bright Summary weather invariably has me reaching for something cold and grim in some sort of mental retaliatory strike. The latest Sargeist is not as raw and savage as previous releases and there are eyebrow raising moments of melody throughout but it still leaves a satisfyingly icy pall to thwart those nasty sunbeams permeating the man cave.

Darkthrone - Artic Thunder 7.5/10
After getting that eighties denim and leather phase out of their systems with previous albums the Darkthrone boys got their serious heads on again resulting in a dark, heavy record redolent of prime Celtic Frost.

Attic - The Invocation 7/10
After finally getting on board with the Mercyful Fate worshipping Germans last year I've gone back to the start and picked up this sumptuous Van Records reissue of the first album which is certainly decent but preference is still for the latest one.

Xentrix - Scourge 3/10
In 1996 Xentrix released the aptly titled Scourge and leapt right off that stuttering Thrash train and right into oblivion. And for what? For Whose Advantage? the band now faced a Shattered Existence as they stood before kith and Kin as sell-outs and wouldn't return to Bury The Pain until 2019. I have fuck all for Seven Words though.

Leave out the 'though' and that's seven words.

I haven't heard that Cobalt album, that's the one without McSorley, isn't it?

Yeah, I thought that probably should have been the end of the band after the split but if anything it rejuvenated them. Or killed them, if your a BM purist.

Must go back to the latest Dark Tranquility.  Thought the first couple of songs were good and then the rest of the album just bored me.

Talking of periods of boredom...

Iron Maiden - Brave New World (it has been an age since I listened to this.  First half is certainly more interesting than the second half.)
Iron Maiden - Dance of Death (probably my favourite post reunion album though the last two song arent great).
Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life or Death
Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier (for me, this is the weakest of all the Maiden albums. Pretty hard to say anything positive. Coming Home has a nice sing along chorus and I'm done)
Iron Maiden - The Book of Souls

Listened to the last one a few weeks ago and I can't be arsed with it again.

Benediction:Ravage Of Empires.
Typical fare from them but good craic nonetheless.

Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
Primordial - How It Ends
Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle
Maiden - Piece of Mind
Maiden - SSOAS
