Rainbow - Rising

Classic.

Megadeth- Peace sells

Finally picked up a copy from '86 on vinyl, there is indeed a noticeable difference from the remastered version(s). Much rougher, sharper sounding guitar, drums like hammers.

Bretwaldas of Heathen Doom- Kingdom of Killers.

Any chance you wanna share?? Sounds interesting, me being one of two who voted them as the best thrash band in the old poll here  :)

Convent Guilt- Guns for Hire.

Stuck on Times of Grace by Neurosis there for some late night/early morning accompaniment while finishing off my thesis, decided to give the band a google to see if there's any gigs or music in the pipeline only to find out Scott Kelly wrote some batshit insane fb post about how he has been domestically abusing his wife and kids for years and is also retiring from music.

WTF.

??? Fuck!

In fairness he does mention in his twitter bio that he's antifascist so that's pretty good!

That album was the start of their decline for me. Ever since Albini got involved they've become turgid and uninteresting. Even touring it there was a marked step down from the previous run.

M.O.D. - Gross Misconduct and Rhythm of Fear, while out this morning. It's a shame Milano couldn't keep these lineups together, decent efforts.

C.O.C. - Blind
Sacred Reich - Ignorance
D.R.I - Thrashzone

I remember these guys getting a bit of coverage in Metal Hammer in the mid 90s and hearing a song on one of the free compilation CDs. I thought it was crap back then and listening to it these days I get all the reasons why it wouldn't have appealed to my tender ears. It's all of those features that are what appeal to me these days. Mood-wise, if not exactly musically, it reminds me a bit of Geasa. I see it's cheap enough to grab on Discogs so I'll have to nab a copy of this and the follow up at some stage.

Jesus that's some blast from the past I know it well
