Slayer - Show No Mercy
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Sacral Rage - Illusions in Infinite Void
Judas Priest - Painkiller

For some reason I'm only getting around to listen to the Foo Fighters debut album and its not too bad actually

The first one was good when it came out. Pure pop madness. I haven't listened to it in decades at this stage but I'm sure I would remember every note. I never heard anything beyond the singles after that one.

Been a while.

Such an odd little album. A bit all over the place stylistically and rough in places, but really evocative and interesting. I would have heard bits of this on the Metal Show back in the day, but I think it was just too weird and inaccessible for me in those early years. It's one I've come to love as I've become more intrigued by obscure sounds. I love the album cover too. Pity they don't keep their old merch designs in print.

I think the only thing that irks me about it, and only slightly, is the spoken-word Irish which just... doesn't sound Irish  :-X

Yet it has its charm. C'est Anglo Irish, non?

Skerries Oirish, roysh?

Imrama's pretty good, their last release that I liked.

AA has just about the most idiosyncratic unplaceable accent I've ever heard, which musically works to his advantage in English. Problem here isn't accent though; it's just very audibly someone reading a language they don't speak. And he's not to be blamed for that either, state of our mother tongue education, etc., etc. Just a slight irk. A metal pet peeve perhaps!

Sounds like a 5 year old reading an Ann & Barry book

Winterfylleth - The Imperious Horizon

Trouble - s/t

On repeat. Best album ever, says I.

Hypocrisy - Abducted
The Haunted - The Haunted Made Me Do It
Monster Magnet - Mastermind
Primus - The Brown Album

Voivod: Nothingface
Sick Of All:Yours Truly
At The Gates:The Ghost Of A Future Dead
Sepultura:The Cloud Of Unknowing
Death Angel:Act III

At The Gates - The Ghost of a Future Dead
Drudkh - Thaw
Gorgoroth - Under the Sign of Hell
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times
Metalucifer - Heavy Metal Chainsaw

October File -Our Souls To You 9/10
British punk/metal hybrid from 2010, caustic social commentary diatribe set to a Prong/Killing Joke/Therapy? style jam, Justin Broderick at the mixing desk, good shit.

Immolation - Descent 8.5/10
Album number twelve from the high kings of Death Metal (and yet another Kantor artwork I don't particularly care for) sees the band in fine fettle delivering yet another masterclass with a few surprising touches along the way. Like it was ever in doubt.

Metal Church - Dead To Rights 8/10
A line up now featuring folk from Megadeth, Vicious Rumors and Flotsam and Jetsam could hardly fail and indeed this is the best Metal Church album in years.

Reeking Aura - On The Promise Of The Moon 8/10
New members and a new sense of melody amongst the mulch and murk second time around for the New Yorkers.

Incandesence - Hors Temps 7.5/10
First one I've picked up from this Quebecois BM act, their fifth overall, expansive vistas of sweeping melodies and grandeur as is typical of the Canadian sound in this style, more sombre than spiteful. I prefer it the other way around when it comes to Black Metal.

Kreator - Krushers Of The World 7/10
Kringe factor ten aside this fair beats records from the other thrash titans, Exodus and Megadeth, this year.

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Re. October File, had this on a few weeks ago and was much better than I remembered, the added bonus of some remixes are pretty cool.
