NOLA is a top to bottom classic. One of the few albums I'd consider a 10/10. It was, however, a total fluke.

The disappointment when A Bustle... came out was unreal and the quality of their recorded content has continued to wane. The live album is truly horrific.

I have gone to see them every time they have played here and they have been hit and miss too. The Academy gigs were exceptional. The first one in the Ambassador where an off his tits Anselmo was bickering with Pepper Keenan onstage was utterly pish weak. I was stunned at the time to see people on the old forum raving about their carry on that night like they were the definition of rock and roll. They were in fact a mess.

I can imagine it being a summer evening out the back with a few bottles type album, so I will indeed give it another whirl.

That is pretty much the buzz I get off it. I can remember being about 15 and listening to the tape on summer nights with the oul flagon of Devil's Bit.

The simple joys of youth!

Go on lads, it pisses on everything from a great height. Especially for those here who don't appreciate the mighty Godflesh. 16 minutes of  the best of the best but unfortunately not starring Eric Roberts

Great stuff, shame they never gave it a separate release.

That Godflesh EP is top class, can't believe I didn't give it a proper go until lately.  The saxophone on Pulp is some addition

Quote from: ochoill on June 03, 2020, 12:14:13 PMCurrently listening to Psychic Graveyard - "A Bluebird Vacation", also fairly savage.  Noise rock, in the vein of more recent Daughters but slower, more industrial, barely a hint of guitar on it, electronics and drums and horror mainly.  A great find
Great find indeed. I've been rawkin owt to that this afternoon. Cheers lawd...  :abbath:
No bother, it's excellent alright, had it on myself again there this evening and it just gets better each time.

There is a vinyl and the young brother has it and a CD going cheap on discogs but there is rakes of shit I don't want on it as well. I'd definitely buy a disc of just their 4 tracks but not the full comp

I have Psychic Graveyard on here as well and it is pretty much Daughters without guitars and it's going really well

Yeah, there's a lot of that Grind Madness compilation that I wouldn't be bothered about, not enough on it to make it worth the purchase. Surprised the tracks weren't added to the Streetcleaner reissue a few years back, I think it was Earache that put that out (I could check but I'd have to walk all the way upstairs).

There's versions on it of each of those songs, but none of those live at the BBC ones.

Anthrax - Among the Living

Absolute classic, they get a bit of stick but they had more personality than most 80's thrash bands.

Nocternity- 'Harps of the Ancient Temples'. Bleedin' rapid.

Sin After Sin

Being able to do a cover that's noticeably the original song yet also your own is an underrated skill and Judas Priest did some cracking covers back in the day... step forward "Race with the Devil" going on repeat for the last half hour :abbath:

Liturgy - The Ark Work

Really love this album. I hear yer man is a bit of a knob, but musically it's quite daring

Supersuckers - Live at the Magic Bag

Great rock 'n' roll band in their day
