Virgin Prunes- If I Die, I Die. Big Killing Joke vibe off some of it.

It's a classic, love it!

NP recently played:

Melechesh - Sphynx
Pitch Shifter - Submit
Bauhaus - Go Away White (what a return to form)
Medulla Nocte - Dying from the Inside (every once in a while I reach for this little gem)
Dismember - Like an Ever Flowing Stream

Class. Nasty recording sound from a dusty crypt. I need to check out way more old Polish stuff. Don't even know Veles well...I was more  in the french black legions dungeon.

I will have to check out the other couple of VP releases, the EP from 82 and the album from 86. Any idea if they hold up to the weird darkness found within If I Die...?

Mysteries are cool. I mean, it's pretty bottom of the barrel stuff quality wise- sloppy arsed playing and rehearsal room recording- but it is effective in its own small way.

Veles are well worth exploring. I haven't bothered with LLN. Too many projects with gimpy names has kept me away, but maybe I should make an effort there. The Osculum Infame demos have really struck a cord with me, and even though they weren't LLN, I think they are linked spiritually.

Mysteries are really hitting the spot especially with those Burzum-esque vocals. It found that sweet spot recording wise which is lacking a lot in the LLN. Like you say, there is way too much alphabet projects but id recommend these ones as a start :

Mütiilation - Remains of a Ruined, Dead, Cursed Soul (so fucking raw)
Vlad Tepes /Belkètre  - March to the Black Holocaust (especially Belkètre side for me)
Aäkon Këëtrëh - Dans la forêt... (dark ambient)

Will check out Veles and threw on Osculum Infame - Sadomatic, Impure Artgoat now - another one i missed.

Anthrax - Spreading The Disease
Anthrax - Among The Living

Nah the Bush era is still the superior lineup. Might line that up for tomorrow!

Primordial - To the Nameless Dead
Warlord - And the Cannons of Destruction have Begun
Pagan Altar - Never Quite Dead
Entrails - Grip of Ancient Evil

Black Sabbath: Born Again  (cassette)

Ian Gillan on vocals (aka 'Deep Sabbath'). They will tell you it is awful but it isn't. 'Trashed', 'Hot Line', 'Zero The Hero', 'Digital Bitch', 'Keep it Warm'. :abbath:

Immortal - Sons of Northern Darkness
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper
Devil - Gather the Sinners
Deep Purple - Who Do We Think We Are
Darkthrone - Transilvanain Hunger

The Bush era Anthrax albums. Such an underrated era. Volume 8 being the lower point but overall a nice bunch of releases. Sound Of White Noise and We've Come For You All are savage. Stomp 442 must surely be the most overlooked album though.
