Just giving the Frost demo on the Metal Archive a blast there.

Is really from 87?if so it's outrageous for the time considering the death metal thing didn't really kick in for another 2 or 3 years, the vocals especially. Doesn't sound too earth shattering now but I deffo can't think of any other bands doing that here til maybe Asphyxia and Tricifix a few years later.

"Night of the dead" should definitely strike a chord with the INRI fans

Sodom: In The Sign Of Evil, Persecution Mania

Ridiculous comparing ITSOE to Bestial Devastation or INRI, it's light years beyond both.

Yeah it smokes both of them. Had PM on earlier myself. "Procession to Golgatha" is such a vibe.

NP - Apogean - "Cyberstrictive". Juicy, modern tech-death. Would be up a few of yet streets for sure.

Ogre boys said they were just mad influenced by Celtic Frost, hence the name. Band picture has to be from 1987

Oh I figured haha. The vocals on the first few tracks are just so extreme for 87 though, like they certainly weren't unprecedented but they hadnt become as commonplace at that stage. Mad

Fabricant - "Drudge to the Thicket". Bonkers album, one of the best this decade.

(A) It's atmospheric as fuck and sets the tone for the rest of the album beautifully.

(B) Jamiroquai are best band ever.

Wtf does that mean Ducky?!

Agreed, cracker. The day that and the Mephitis album arrived was a good day.

Banged the Mefitis one on after that for a walk into town. Tis a grand day for sure.

Sodom - In The Sign of Evil / Obsessed by Cruelty
Hexecutor - Beyond Any Human Conception of Knowledge...
Hexecutor - ...Where Spirit Withers in it's Flesh Constraint
Messa - The Spin
Lady Beast - The Inner Alchemist

Tribulation - The Children Of The Night 9/10
Always going to be a big risk this but the metamorphosis from Death Metal to full blown avant-garde goth rock went spectacularly right for the Swedes, great record.

Winterfylleth - The Imperious Horizon 8.5/10
Never a huge fan but this from last year was something else. Now I was paying attention.

Kristin - Black Force Domain 8/10
Debut from 1995, a hateful fist in the face to the watered down Thrash and Death coming out at the time.

Autopsy - Morbidity Triumphant 7.5/10
This one gets a bit saggy in the middle but still as reliable as ever for a good, bone rattling Death Metal fix.

Candlemass - Sweet Evil Sun 7/10
Much like the Autopsy, not one of their best but a solid enough outing from these stalwarts. Much as I like Lungquist's vocals it does sometimes sound like a different band compared to the Marcolin and Lowe eras. Candlemagus?

Fate's Warning - Parallels 7/10
Still picking up albums by these to fill out their discography and this one shocked me with its overtly accessible and commercial rock nature.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Always enjoy reading your mini-reviews.   Dangerous for the wallet though.

Raven - Can't Take Away The Fire
Metallica - ...And Justice For All
Metallica - Kill Em All
Black Sabbath - Headless Cross
MegatonSword - Might & Power
Pale Divine - Perfect Thunder Mind (another album I listened to a lot of when it was released but it has been years since I remember listening to it.  Some great riffs and songs on it).
