Godflesh: Decline & Fall, A World Lit Only By Fire, Post Self, Purge

I don't revisit the recent material as often as I should, which is a mistake.

Do you have that gold box thing? I know purge isn't in it but that's a great run of stuff there and the newer stuff is absolutely brilliant I'll have that run on next

Replicant - discography
I love this band. Happy out for the long walk home from the pub after the thrilling Munster Final. Tunes!

No. I have the EP and albums on CD, and bought the New Flesh In Dub digital release. I should have bought the boxset but couldn't really justify it when I owned the standard physical releases.

Slayer - Reign In Blood 10/10
This is the one to rule them all as far as I am concerned, the pinnacle of intensity, aggression and precision songcraft. And yes I know it's not universally lauded on here!

Bathory - Blood Fire Death 10/10
Two classics in one sesh? Don't mind if I do. Must have a look at that new tribute show at Mystic Festival that has just gone up on youtube.

Cirith Ungol - Live At The Roxy 9/10
A commemorative recording to mark the launch of their Dark Parade album at The Roxy in Hollywood, full album plus a 'best of' set and a DVD to boot. A live album cannot be Album Of The Year but I'll get around that and say this is Pick-Up of The Year.

Outre Tombe - Repurgation 8/10
2015 debut from the Canadians which worships at the altar of Asphyx, Bolt Thrower and Entombed, good shit this and the French vocals add a little something different. Will be hunting down their subsequent releases.

Morbific -Bloom Of the Abnormal Flesh 7/10
Molasses thick Death Metal, heavy on atmosphere, filth and putridity, this third album from the Finns impresses in spells but allows the mind to drift at others.

Katatonia - Nightmares As Extensions Of The Waking State. 5/10
Fuck, that title is unwieldy. Anyway, more wishy - washy watercolours from the pastel pallete of the saturnine Swedes, now with 70% less added Metal since Anders left. Already I miss his leads.
Disclaimer : This may grow on me like previous ones after the same initial indifference. Question is, will it get the chance?

New Gruesome ,I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff, Death were one of my favourite  bands.

Slayer's fourth best album and Bathory's first decent album IMO.

It was YOU I was thinking off when I said not universally lauded on here

Thank you, proof I'm correct.  8)

MegatonSword - Might & Power
Deadly Magic - ...As Nightmares Gorged The Earth
...And Oceans - The Regeneration Itinerary
Slough Feg - Traveller EP

Dephosphorus/Wake split

LIK- The Second Wind. Long time since I've Listers to this. Cool album which now puts me in mind of Beyond Dawn, a reference that would have been lost on me when I picked it up around 15 years ago.

Old Season - Archaic Creation. The first time in a few years that I've listened to this. An Irish metal classic! My only gripe is the bass drum sound.

That raised my eyebrows until I copped it wasn't the generic melodic Swededeath Lik you're on about, they'd be a bit low hanging fruit for you I'd say.

Oh right, your one is an acronym
