Angel Sword - World Fighter
Desaster - Tyrants of the Netherworld
Triumpher - Storming the Walls
Gorgoroth - Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt
Vision Master - Sceptre

Graveland- Thousand Swords.

Wayfarer - A Romance with Violence

Every so often something reminds me these guys exist and I listen to them and enjoy them and then forget about them again.

Skid Row...
Can't top the first two, but I've been binging on most of the 'other' releases lately.

B-Side Ourselves.
Love it. Managed to pick up an original 12" recently, too.

Subhuman Race.
Good enough songs, shitty production.

ROTDA - United World Rebellion: PT.2
Solid EP. Good songs, good covers.
Still need to get PT.1 though.

The Gang's All Here.
Banger. Grönwall is pretty close to a younger sounding Bach for sure.

Holy Holy- When the Storms Would Come CD.

I heard a small section of True Lovers on d'telly in work the other morning and was immediately ensnared. So bloody catchy. Today I bought the CD above which hasn't actually got that single on it but I picked it up for a tenner and listened to it four times in a row, so I've already got my money's worth even if the love affair soon runs dry. I don't think it will. Superb song writing in the rock/pop vein but with touches of classic rock and prog floating around too. Maybe some subtle synth pop vibes as well. I can't help but
think that the multi- instrumentalist half of the duo is or was a metal head. The singer reminds me frequently of Matt from Hexvessel even though the general mood is more poppy than mystical.

Malthusian - Across Deaths

Listening to this while being stuck behind a line of cunts driving 30km below the speed limit makes me feel like it's ok to murder people.

This might be their best album. It's the one I return to the most from their early period.

Embrace Of Thorns - Scorn Aesthetics

Lie In Ruins - Demise

Ensnared - Dysangelium

Rush: Moving Pictures

Destroyer 666 - Phoenix Rising.
                Cold steel.

Two unbelievable albums, no filler!

Iron Maiden - Live After Death 9/10
Probably the greatest collection of Heavy Metal songs ever put together but as a live album this falls short of capturing the blood, sweat and beers of a Heavy Metal concert.

Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden 8.5/10
Had to dig this one out too to make sure Di'Anno gets his dues (and to counteract Dickinson's overexuberance and general Duracell Bunny routine on the live one).

Violence- Eternal Nightmare (8.5/10)
I came so late to this one it's nigh on embarrassing but I've been suitably punished and beaten black and blue by it these past couple of years. Okay, not completely sold on Killian's vocals but they're not a deal breaker for me either. It's not like it's his fault he sounds like he's falling out of a different building every time he opens his mouth.

Sodom - Persecution Mania 8/10
As a teen I often thought of taking my school compass and scratching this record so it would skip from Electrocution to the title track thus omitting the Iron Fist cover. This album after all was where Sodom hit the sweet spot between the savagery of Obsessed.. and the more streamlined Agent.. and what the hell did Motorhead have to do with my beloved Thrash?? Ah..

Overkill - Wings Of War 7.5/10
The one before the last one saw the Jersey boys keeping the pedal to the metal and delivering another pummelling assault of their signature street level thrash.

At The Gates - The Nightmare Of Being 7/10
Far removed from their classic formative works now but this latest from 2021 was a decent listen showing a band still doing things their own way with Lindberg's literary and always interesting lyrics and vocal performance worthy of note.

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes
