Haunt - Windows of Your Heart (I do like these guys, catchy heavy metal, perfect for a Monday morning sitting at a computer)
Alcest - Les Chants De l'Aurore (can't get into this at all).
Venom - Sons of Satan - Rare and Unreleased (the Church Hall recordings are unlistenable but the rest very cool).
Sammath - Triumph in Hatred
Cresent Shield - The Stars of Never Seen
Epitaph - Path to Oblivion

Sell Trouble s/t to me over, say, The Skull? I dig the hell out of the self-titled, but to my ears it doesn't ooze quite so much all-time classicness as The Skull.

Not even close, for me. It's flawless. The sound, the flow of one song into the next, it cannot be beaten.

Suggesting The Skull has flaws won't put you on my good side!

I did not explicitly say that 🤣

As far as other Trouble albums I would personally recommend , 'Run To The Light' (87) is decent and 'Plastic Green Head' was a good 90s release, probably ignored when people were too interested in grunge or alternative at the time.

NP: Blind Guardian: live 2003 (LOTR style cover cd)

Nosferatu. Looked amazing, Skarsgard was great, Dafoe was overshadowed, Johnson was channelling Rufus Sewell, Depp started badly, imprived slightly, Hoult looked confused the whole time. Creature design was superb, even the 'tache suited the setting. It just didn't grab me though. Had its moments but didn't quite live up to the hype. Adequate to good.

Voivod - Morgoth Tales 8.5/10
Released in '23 to celebrate their 40th anniversary, a fun little collection of fan favourites and rarities plus the all new title track. You gotta hand it to the new guy, he really does justice to Piggy's work.

Autopsy - Puncturing The Grotesque 8/10
Mini album from 2017 ,a familiar trip through the band's molasses thick  Death Metal apart from the Bloodbath (not that one) cover and a seriously Motorhead sounding title track. Rock on boys.

Exodus - Blood In Blood Out 7.5/10
Zetro's return album back in '14 and now we're back to Angry Rob. Zet In Zet Out?

Converge - The Dusk In Us 7/10
Converge are about as hard-core as I go, this isn't their best, at least of the ones I have, but it's still pretty damn good.

Pantera - Far Beyond Driven 6/10
Getting my neanderthal stomp on this week with Phil and the boys, just need a bar in which to brawl in and a needle strewn back alley in which to whine about my shitty life.

Amorphis - The Beginning Of Times 5/10
The beginning of me not exactly parting with Amorphis but definitely wincing more uncomfortably at their increasingly lightweight direction.

Black Sabbath - Headless Cross
Black Sabbath - Tyr
Kerbdog - Kerbdog

Master of Reality will always be my favourite Sabbath album, but Tyr is definitely top 5.

I had Master of Reality on in the car on the way home this evening after Dehumanizer.

Pale Divine - Consequences of Time
Slayer - Show No Mercy
Sig:Ar:Tyr - Citadel of Stars (Thorn was spot on about this one.  Great album).
Demon Bitch - Master of the Games
The Obsessed - Gilded Sorrow

Quote from: open face surgery on January 20, 2025, 08:04:47 PMVenenum ep is amazing. Album took years to come out and didn't fit the bill when it did but went back to it last year and really enjoyed it. Must go back again. On the offchance that you haven't heard their previous band Excoriate, get on it. On Pestilent Winds is 10/10.

The middle part of Trance Of Death, Metanoia Journey, surely Blood Incantation pillaged that on Absolute Elsewhere.

They stole from everyone else so why not 😄 Very similar alright. Thought it was very Tribulation at the time.
