Ended up listening to Vitalogy by Pearl Jam twice last night. I'm thinking it's their best now all of a sudden. Might have been the cans making me think that though I'll have to try it again this evening

Ten, Vs, and Vitalogy are fucking brilliant, but I never went further than that with Pearl Jam for some reason

Then picked up Riot Act a while back when I saw it going cheap and it's utter shite. Happy to just stick with those first three

Oh yeah it's only those three for me as well. Heard bits and pieces of other things but couldn't find anything good in them at all. For some reason I had Vitalogy as being the worst one in my head but no it's really good

Bumblefoot...Returns!
Urne - A Feast On Sorrow
Khirki - Ktnwdia
Shaolin Death Squad - Intelligent Design
Engel - Absolute Design

Incantation - Onward to Golgotha
Decapitated - Cancer Culture (this really is a complete pile of bollocks).
Grand Magus - Wolf God
Sigor Ros et al - Odin's Raven Magic
Satyricon - Dark Medieval Times

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle-earth
Alan Parsons Project - Eve
Rush - Hemispheres

If APP have a specialty, it must be opening with a killer instrumental track. Lucifer is absolutely no exception.

Binaural is decent, Yield and No Code are patchy but contain some worthwhile material.

Probably the best release from them this century is the Lost Dogs compilation, which is mostly b-sides and rarities from their golden era.

Kreator - Hordes Of Chaos

Helloween - Gambling With The Devil

Amaranthe - The Catalyst

Cynic (as Portal) - "The Portal Tapes".

I fucking love this thing. Honestly believe that it's akin to a 1990s version of Steely Dan's "Aja".

Lofty praise indeed. Despite my Cynic fanboi status, the Portal stuff has never clicked for me, much as I wished it would.

Been on a Coroner buzz recently, lots of Mental Vortex and Grin. With all the top5 talk recently, I think I would have Mental Vortex or Trouble s/t as my all time #1

Yeah that's fair. You can hear the traces (no pun intended) of Cynic in there, but it's basically a sophisti-pop album.

Might bang on some Coroner when I get in home, provided the power stays on (maybe listening to "Dynamo" by Obliveon would be more appropriate).

Haven't tried that, must give it a go. Had heard of it a while back but then it got lost to the dim mists of ancient time in my head

Testament - The Legacy
The Crown - The Burning
Legendry - Time Immortal Wept
Therion - Vovin
Hellripper - The Affair of the Poisons

Wormed - Exodromos
Brodequin - Methods of Execution
Cannibal Corpse - Tomb of the Mutilated
