Bangers. Really hope they go back to this sound. The "Dealz-does-Cynic" of their last album was such a bust in comparison.

Agreed. Those two albums are great. I wasn't mad about the last. They crawled up their own arse a bit.

OVERKILL - Horrorscope
OVERKILL - I Hear Black
OVERKILL - W.F.O.

KISS - Hotter Than Hell
SODOM - M-16
BATHORY - Jubileum - Volume I
I - Between Two Worlds

Yeah I'm all for a band growing/evolving, but they ended up like a tech-death band that didn't quite have the chops to pull it off, and also forgot how to write good songs in the process.

The album art is even a knock-off Robert Venosa job as well.

Spiritual Beggars - Ad Astra 9/10
Orange Goblin - The Big Black 8.5/10

In a pretty neat quirk of fate I ended up with these two back to back on a C-90 which makes for a pretty damn rocking hour and a half.

Scald - Ancient Doom Metal 7.5/10
Had to give this a go on YouTube with an album title like that, good stuff from Russia in the vein of Solstice and Procession.

Stormwitch - Tales Of Terror 7/10
1985 second album from the Germans with the most Metal of Metal names

Primal Fear - Metal Commando 6/10
Not much happening in the last couple of Primal Fears ,they've lost their fire a bit for me, still decent Euro Power Metal though.

Amulet- The Inevitable War 6/10
Second album from these English knaves tapping into their NWOBHM heritage

Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

I've got that Spiritual Beggars album in a crate somewhere, bought at a record fair 23 years ago off the back of Mike Amott being a key member - and Heartwork being my favourite Carcass record - think I played it once and dismissed it as "shite Deep Purple" Might be time to revisit.

NP -

Kreator - Renewal.
Voivod - Dimension Hatross.
Coroner - Grin.

My man 😎

I was doing my run of "classic albums my bro-in-law gave me at 16 wot got me into metal to begin with" weekend, but cheated with these a bit.

He had some free music magazine compilations from back in the day in there too. Three of the songs spread across the ten or so discs that made the biggest impression on me were Voivod's Psychic Vacuum, Kreator's Winter Martyrium, and Coroner's Paralyzed/Mesmerised, so what better reason to trot out the parent albums?

Funnily enough, Pornografitti was in there on tape, so I need to root out my copy of that to do justice to the shoe box. I'm leaving Born Again for the err, "climax" of the whole experience

Ah jaysus, Paralyzed/Mesmerised is one of the best Metal songs ever written and that fucken solo... beautiful stuff.
