I know Pat has it... yet another motivation to organize a heist of his collection

I actually don't know the debut that well, might give it a listen today.

I would love to see his collection. It must be frightening.

I haven't seen it, but it was frightening in a different sense 30 years ago when he was living at home and the ceiling beneath his room was warped from the weight of the vinyl stored above. So twas a bit structurally unsound I guess!   ???

You've prompted me to stick this on. Fairly sure I've heard it along the way but it sounds new to me here now. Sounds magic. Way better than expected, as in, way more melodic.
ahh its fantastic album, hadnt stuck it on in a while.. dont walk away one of the most fun metal songs around..always loved sodom's cover of it as well

Savage album. All of those early Tank albums are great to be fair, but Filth Hounds just has that something special about it. Produced by Fast Eddie too.

N.P. -

MOTLEY CRUE - Theatre Of Pain (1985)
MOTLEY CRUE - Girls, Girls, Girls (1987)

Filth Hounds is incredible. Given the recent Motorhead obsession, I can't see it not ticking all the right boxes. Gonna throw it on.

Razor:Shotgun Justice
Napalm Death: Utilitarian
God's Hate:Mass Murder

Yup, very close to Motorhead, fair bit of Diamond Head style blended in too. Surprised you didn't know the album already Andy, but sure enjoy anyway!

Testament -Low cd

Liege Lord - Burn to My Touch
Roughed Up - King and Council
StarGazer - Psychic Ills
Waste of Space Orchestra - Syntheosis
Sabbath Assembly - A Letter of Red
Portishead - Portishead
Krisiun - Black Force Domain
Yer Old Droog - Yod Stewart
Mutation - Demo
Autopsy- Severed Survival

A fine mixed bag of a day.

RUNNING WILD - Gates To Purgatory (1984)
RUNNING WILD - Branded And Exiled (1985)

This is pretty fuckin gnarly. Any recommendations for other bands making decent sludge these days? Have been back listening to Iron Monkey, Grief, Burning Witch, Meth Drinker etc of late but lost interest in the scene around 10 years ago so I've surely missed loads

Only got round to this the other day, was waiting till I could give it a proper listen.

It's so so good, definitely a highlight of the year so far. It'll get many more listens.

Riot - ThunderSteel
Omen - Battle Cry
Cantique Lepreux - Paysages Polaires
Tank - Filth Hounds of Hades

Haven't listened to any Tank since 2018 or whenever they released their last studio album, which I didn't enjoy. All this chat about Filth Hounds and I just had to listen to it. Still need to get official copies of a few of their earlier albums as I have only ever had them on CDr.

Dead Congregation - Purifying Consecrated Ground

Reversed - Wildly Possessed
Dime - s/t EP

Also got about 3 songs into an album by Mortal Wound which is the absolute worst shit I've heard in years. Absolute garbage.

Gonna lash on the new Redd Kross now to clean out my ears

PHANTOM BLUE - Built To Perform (1993)
PYN SIREN - Slave To Your Master (2003)
ARCADE - Arcade (1993)
WILDSIDE - Under The Influence (1992)

Skyclad - Wayward Sons of Mother Earth

Such a fucking great album, completely unique sound at the time. They never captured that level of aggression on the later stuff, never came close.
