Angel Dust - Into the Dark Past/To Dust You Will Decay

Had a random mix playing on YouTube and these came up, never heard of them before but hitting the 80s speed/NWOBHMish spot nicely

WOLFSBANE - Wolfsbane Save The World (2012)

Quote from: Eoin McLove on June 11, 2024, 10:03:17 AMSurprised at how good (old and heavy) the guitar tone is on that new MDB.

It isn't a bad album.  Obviously not a patch on their classics but I've been enjoying it on the few listens it has gotten so far.

The bits I've heard sound much more like it than anything they've released in the past twenty years. They've ditched that airy guitar sound.

WOLFSBANE - Wolfsbane/Everything Else E.P. (1994)

Sulphur Aeon - The Scythe Of Cosmic Chaos

I fuckin' love this band !

Black Sabbath- Tyr. Is there a more epic tune than Jerusalem? Answer: No.

Quote from: Ducky on June 04, 2024, 07:39:23 PMI never paid any attention to the Martin era (partially because I don't like Dio and that's who he's compared to, and the first Sabbath album proper I got my hands on as a young fella was Born Again with Ian Gillian, so I took on a "no Ozzy, no point) attitude.

Giving Headless Cross a whirl here on Spotify and fuck, might just have to pick up that boxset.

Both Headless Cross and Tyr are mighty. As is Eternal Idol, but that isn't in the boxset. Cross Purposes has really grown on me over the years too. Forbidden has some cracking riffs too, but is very confused sounding, and poorly produced. Having Ernie C as producer was folly, especially as he apparently was acting like Cozy Powell couldn't play drums, and was telling Iommi how to play. And he had Ice - T involved, which was an abomination.

Nice, I'll have to score some of the post-Born Again albums soon. Wondering now if there's any other bands where I wrote off chunks of their discography as a young fella because young fellas are eejits

Acting like Cozy Powell couldn't play drums sure is a hot take, fucking hell.

Attacker - The God Particle (really wasn't sure at first but again, really grown on me.   A good solid 7/10 album).

Heavy Load - Metal Conquest

Anciients - Heart of Oak (absolutely loving this)

Necronomicon - The Demos (band who have been on my list to check out for ages, so a release of their demos seems as good a place to start as any).

Abigail Williams - The Accuser

Defo. Can't go wrong with any of them in fairness.
