You can get a pill for that now apparently.

Axegrinder- Rise of the Serpent Men.

I bought this years ago and it didn't do much for me. It was too basic I think. It is clicking with me now. All the things that I can imagine put me off 15 or so years ago are the things that interest me about it today. The over- processed drums (post punk/ industrial hell) and the simplicity of the riffs which I now interpret as being like these darkly epic mantras. It has caught my imagination completely. Savage album. Apart from Amebix, what other bands are worth checking out in this vein? (Please don't say Swans, I'm not ready to reevaluate them yet  )

Deadly. "Killing Monsters" is a beast of a track. And "Sunder" - Jaysis Christ.

"The Guide" still get regular spins too. I'd love to see them live but somehow they have eluded me.

I thought it was a folky up the hills down the valley type thing but I was quite far off the mark. Richie from The Metal Cell was singing their praises so I listened. That latest release is great.

One of the best albums ever committed to tape.

"Psychic Vacuum" was on some random magazine compilation that my brother-in-law loaned me when I was 16/just getting into music (part of what I like to call "The Magic Shoebox" - had a bunch of Metallica, Maiden, Megadeth, Deep Purple, Ozzy, albums when I asked him for some 'guitar music') and it definitely opened my ears up to things what were a bit weird/off kilter.
