Caladan Brood - Echoes of Battle 2xLP moss green

Stumbled across this when there were only 2 copies left, trying to buy a shirt from the bandcamp. Very difficult to find considering its popularity, one of those jackpot moments when I happened across it at the right time.
There are a ton of Summoning-worship bands that can all be safely ignored, but this is a masterpiece of the style that rivals (and arguably bests) Summoning themselves. Always curious if they'd release something else or show up in different bands, strange that they did this and then disappeared.

You're right, I knew about the overlap with Gallowbraid but not Visigoth. That makes more sense i guess, though I'd still wish to see more Caladan. Yes if you're into Summoning it should hit the spot.

Filling in a few gaps in the collection

Type O Negative - Origin of the Feces
Metallica - Hardwired
Judas Priest - Ram it Down
Enslaved - Eld

One of the best things I've ever heard. I got the orange pressing 2 years ago, it's a beautiful package, especially with the inner sleeves as well.

That and Gallowbaird were great random discoveries on youtube for me. Couldn't listen to Visigoth though, wrecking me buzz when thinking of what could be done instead. Northern Silence keep indicating something's on the horizon (check out Can Bardd by the way).

I started with Caladan Brood and tried Summoning afterwards but the production was terrible. What would ye actually recommend that's listenable?

I got this on bandcamp Friday, might be of interest as they cover CB:

Great White - Twice Shy
WASP - Headless Children (double CD)
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses - digipack
Monster Magnet - various CD singles
Winger - In the heart of the young
Fields of the Nephilim - For her light  - CD single

Keys of Orthanc are a new one on me. My favourite Summoning is Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame. They're production improves and gets more expansive as time goes on but this is the best writing for me, though it took a small while to get past that tiny 'bedroom' sized production, you have to be fairly on board with the drum machine to get going.

Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame is the one I reach for quite like Stronghold and  Dol Guldur haven't listened to With Doom We Come. Was just checking out the prices of the Sounds of Middle-earth boxset, I nearly choked on my brew.  :-\

Fossilization - He Whose Name Was Long Forgotten CD

Primitive sounding death metal with plenty of doom thrown in:

Some nice Post over the last couple of days

Obsequiae - Aria of Vernal Tombs olive/green/white splatter LP
Immortal - At The Heart of Winter sea blue LP

Now have a chunky 200e order from Napalm that I'm hovering over, may have to delay it a month seeing as I just bought a new turntable.

Enslaved- Below the Lights LP.

Lords of Quarmall- Iron Exile CD.

What fookin size is this suitcase you're bringing to Oz lad?

It grows bigger by the week  8)
