Last I heard Cazarez and Bell had fallen out, prior to that they were one side of a lawsuit against Herreras and Wolbers over use of the name. So fuck knows.

Blah blah blah I'm Fear Factory give me money:

"This is to address some of the controversy regarding the FEAR FACTORY GoFundMe page. It is not a scam. All donations go toward covering newly incurred production costs and not anyone's personal legal fees.

"On the previous version of the album recording, which was completed in 2017, it had programmed drums. I decided to not make that mistake again and had Mike Heller perform live drums on the record. I later realized I needed to re-track guitars and bass to fit better with the live drums. I also decided to add new keyboards from Rhys Fulber, Damien Rainaud, Igor Khoroshev, Giuseppe Bassi and Max Karon.

Damien Rainaud took over production duties for all this, and Andy Sneap is also handling the mixing and mastering. They all did an amazing job on 'Genexus', and I decided to bring them back for the new album. Burton's lead vocals, which were also recorded in full in 2017, will remain on the new version of the album.

"FEAR FACTORY has exceeded its limit in borrowing money from the record company to complete the new version of the album. For this reason, and this reason only, a decision was made to ask for outside donations."

Essentially Cazares is rerecording everything bar the vocals. Presumably to avoid paying anyone.

Still doesn't come out of that looking great. So he decided to redo loads of the album, start a crowdfund for it, and presumably didn't tell Bell about any of it

I know he was on the winning side of the lawsuit over use of the name, reading between the lines Bell has fucked off and he's gonna use his demo vocals on the album because it wouldn't sell otherwise. He's used up all of the label advance already so he's got his hand out.

At the risk of appearing a tad insensitive, is celebrity begging now a normal, accepted practice? Stevie Lee, bit-part star of a multi-million dollar movie dies and his family have to beg for money to bury him? With big Dino, he really doesn't have the money to fund his own album recording or he just doesn't fancy putting his hand in his pocket in case it doesn't recoup?

He died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, his family confirmed on a GoFundMe page set up to help cover his funeral costs.

Yep, Archetype is right up there with Demanufacture, really enjoyed Mechanize too. Genexus was decent enough but very safe

Archetype is their best since Demanufacture, despite being rawer in production terms it's pretty close to it in style. I haven't spent much time with the last 3 TBH, Transgression was so bad that I didn't bother with them for years.
