Alexi Laiho's official cause of death.....

Very sad. What a talent.....

Not music related, but Murray Walker died today.  The voice of F1, or when spelt backwards, If.

One of the most recognizable voices in sport!

He was a good age, 97!!

Can't stand Murrays voice as I hated formula one back in the day as a kid. It was always on the telly in our house.

Walter van Cortenberg. Drummer for the past three decades with Ancient Rites. Got a great buzz from Fatherland and Dim Carcosa back in the day and remember buying the Hordes Stood as One DVD from Displeased Records where both releases received sufficient airtime. Only 51 years. Cause of death according to Metal Archives reported as a heart attack. Rest in peace.

Sad news, listening to And the Hordes Stood as One, such a quality live band.

Not metal but the blues-punk/rockabilly livewire Dan Sartain died, aged 39, at the weekend. Suicide appears to be the cause. He was in the middle of a divorce and apparently subject to some sort of social media witch hunt.

Such a shame. He was a genuine talent and stone cold brilliant live. I saw him a few times over the years. He could tear a place up, just him and his guitar.

This video at Sun Studios was only recorded a few months ago. Skip to 5 mins if you want to avoid the preamble.
