Must stick on A Bridge Too Far.  Always loved that movie.

One of the truly great American actors. Rewatched Crimson Tide before Christmas and you don't have that level of actor - him and Denzel - just going for it. I've had Narrow Margin on the Letterboxd Watchlist for an eternity, might tick it off over the weekend.

R.I.P. Michelle Trachtenberg

Feels like only yesterday she was Buffy's annoying little sister.

She wasn't even 40.
Got pretty rough looking at the end too, from one the news bit I saw on it.
Was there health problems?

She had a liver transplant a few months ago.

Curious to see what investigation brings back about Hackman's wife and dog dying at the same time as him. Hackman at 95, can't really complain, but his wife was only 63.

Legend actor anyway, no doubt, and it'll be an absolute pleasure deciding which of his long list of performances to revisit over the weekend.

Some back catalogue alright and 95 is great innings.

Neither of which can be said for the Buffy girl. Crazy young.

The Conversation, one to watch. A true legend gone.

Was reading a poll of his top films after the news and that was at the top.

I've never seen it, in fact I don't even think I've heard of it, living under a rock as I do

Sad news alright, can't agree more re. The Conversation. I'll be watching a good few over the weekend.

It's fantastic, a real gem that's not discussed as often as it should. One of the 5 John Cazale films, too.

I consider Enemy Of The State a stealth sequel to it, Hackman's character is how I imagine Caul in The Conversation would have ended up.

Hopefully it'll be as good as ye are saying I'll give it a go over the weekend and see ye in the film thread

RIP to a great actor, will fire up the French Connection and Mississippi Burning this weekend
