Keep digging into that "I don't know how science works, but fucked if I'm going to admit it" hole lads, jfc

What drivel.
Two scientists have never had differing opinions on how facts should be interpreted?

Fuck me.

I only said a few posts ago that I'm no expert, I'm a  bogman.

In proper science, they're not "opinions": they're hypotheses. Understanding the difference there is perhaps the best starting point to all the rest.

Actually ya know what, I cant be bothered. Ill stick to doing my research funded by the Rothschilds and big pharma.

Solidarity man! I'm drunk now, but spent two hours of the first day of my "holidays" today reworking some analyses. Overtime for which I will receive precisely zero euros  :eyeroll:

I've told myself I'll take tomorrow off...we'll see if that actually happens

Have a look back there lad and its obvious why I used the word opinion.
No need for condescension.

Who's funding your research?

BeJaysus all the vested interests are being declared today.

I had also assumed but didn't want to get personal.

(Speaking of whitch, that bit of editing was the correct move)

Ah i just deleted the bulk of my comment as I dont think theres any point in trying to sway you, or taking the piss out of you for that matter. Don't have the energy for it, I'll stick to acting the maggot and leave work at work  ;)

Also, don't worry, I'm not a biologist, or a chemist, or a virologist.

There's no condescension here, just a lamenting of an absence of humility on your part. I don't know exactly what you do in your day-to-day, but I'm sure you'd understand my perspective better if I was coming in here claiming knowledge of the technical and professional ins and outs of it which you recognized as based in nothing better than bullshit rumours.

The research I was working on today was originally paid for by a 4 yr public research grant I was awarded to do my PhD. The ultimate source of that money, which worked out at a little more than minimum wage (and which has long since been used up) is the French state. I got it by winning a competition in which I had to present a fictional research project to prove my capacities as a researcher, but once I had won the grant I was open to use it on any neuroscience research I wanted and with any team who'd have me. When those 4 yrs of money ran out, I was on the dole for a year (~75% of what I'd been earning for those 4 yrs) but still working at home full time on advancing that research. But it's often slow going, between lecturing and correcting papers, etc., on top, so many years later I still have bits and pieces to tie up. For no monetary compensation whatsoever, just the drive of discovery!

My trajectory isn't exactly typical, but it does reflect the financial situation of the vast majority of public (as opposed to private) researchers, which is who did the vast majority of the basic research behind the molecular action of the mRNA vaccines, the preclinical and clinical screening of their full range of effects, the evaluation of their population-level rollout, etc., etc., etc. There is no pressure on my or on any other public researcher's work (in the western world, that is) to conclude with one result rather than another. A public researcher who discovered massive risks with mRNA vaccines would have no problem publishing their work, all the more so today with preprints (a publication evolution the majority of public researchers have embraced with open arms). Publicly funded climate science is another good example: if governments were pushing it in a given direction then we wouldn't find ourselves in the situation we do, where essentially all climate scientists very loudly criticize the governments of the nations they work in for doing far more to protect big business than the environment.

I have humility man, again, I'm a bogman.

Apart from that, that is genuinely impressive, fair fucks to ya.

I'm not questioning your personal integrity.

I can see your point of view with how annoying that is, it has happened to myself and you'd be fit to strangle a cunt.

Goosebumps above said I couldn't be swayed, thats not true.
I'd want to be an awful stupid man not to change my mind if presented with compelling evidence.

Look man, that fucking vaccine was rolled out 15 years before it was ready.
Thats bad science and a dangerous precedent to set.

You know better than I do the fuck-acting that goes on with medical trials but what happened with this is beyond the pale.

I'd be only fucking delighted if everything was great and no damage was done, I fear thats not the case.

Oh Christ, dont bring the climate into it!.

Enjoy your drink man.

Oh no, I just don't think I am the right man for the job. Im far too irritable and fond of taking the piss to present anything even close to compelling to you 😅

:D  fair enough, I have a bit of a taking the piss and sarcasm problem myself.

And I had to edit that because I spelled and wrong, make of that what you will.
