Quote from: Pagan Saviour on April 29, 2024, 09:02:13 AMOh me too - would've doubted it more and more as time went on but it all became clear watching this. New Jersey is great, some awesome guitar work on it. I enjoy patches of Keep The Faith though you could see they were struggling identity wise, there's killer stuff on that one like Dry County but then complete rubbish that sounds like outtakes from their 80's records alongside Honky Tonk shit like Sleep When I'm Dead etc. These Days is actually worth a punt, Ritchie stripped down his sound, actually think it's one of his best performances. I'm out after that though.
Dry County is such a great song, that extended solo is absolutely brilliant

I'd be with you that These Days is the last decent effort. I picked up a couple of their latter albums €2 a piece in a charity shop, don't think I've ever made it through a full one

It's very good. Matt & Ross always come across as sound as fuck.

They are both on the Hells channel regularly doing interviews. Matt just did a 2 part one 2 or 3 weeks ago. I am going to watch this documentary over the long weekend.

Looks like a bunch more reissues are coming as well on vinyl Slaughtercult - Necrocracy.

Just on the second episode. Have never been arsed with the band. Have Slaughtercult for 20 odd years but it nevergrabbed me. Enjoyable doc so far. Must check out the demos, they sound more full on goregrind.

The first album and the Hemdale split are the best. Most people probably won't agree but the re-recording of the first album from 2015 is even better than the original in my opinion.

They have a comp with all the early splits and demos on it the vinyl version goes for stupid money but a CD version is available.

I have one of their demos from way back. Murky but the cover of Material Girl is good for a laugh.

I don't listen to them but that was cool.

Yep, just finished the 3rd one. Good watch. Watching a making of one of their albums now.

I'll save this for the weekend and a few beers. Big Exhumed fan! They are essentially all nerds ha ha ha.

Watched that Exhumed doc last night, really enjoyed it. I only have two of their albums, but I'll def grab a few more now.

Must give the Bon Jovi one and Exhumed a go, will deffo save Exhumed for a few cans. The Slave to the Grind documentary about grindcore is still all on YoutTube, it is a fun watch.

Any other Death Metal band documentary recommendations lads? Not sure if it was mentioned on here, but the documentary on Autopsy is ace https://youtu.be/NUq_DV7uiew?si=co-axHtoVYTG6Dl4

I'm sure you've already seen it but the Cannibal Corpse one is a great watch, it rekindled my interest in the band after not bothering with them for a long time:
