Interested to hear what it'll be like without Frank on guitar.

Sure they already have Joe Dolan

I'm re-reading Disgrace by J.M.Coetzee. I read it I suppose it must be 24 or 25 years ago and I can remember nothing of it. It is really, really good. I think Mr. Moore read this while writing the lyrics for A Disease for the Ages as The Sickness has been *ahem* "influenced" by passages here

I think I'll stick that LP on next in fact.

I had A Murderous Circus on in the car earlier. It's been a long time since I've reached for it. The drum sound and the overall mix of the album is jarring. Black Album drum production times 10 and pushed to the very front of the mix with guitars and bass much lower. The bass drum just bashes your head in, even in the quieter moments. Dunno how they let that get through but despite the weird sound of the album I still think the songs make it worth the effort. Was there mention of an LP version a few years ago? Imagine if they remixed it with the guitars and bass up front in the mix. It would be interesting to hear at least, even if I think an album's flaws have to be taken into consideration as a part of the experience. The production certainly sets it apart if nothing else, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with it again  8)

It's definitely the MB album I've listened to the least, and by far. Might take myself a ringside seat for a listen later today.

I resumed the AMC listening session on the way in to work. Fuck, it's a great album. So many brilliant parts throughout.

Must go back to it. Always disliked it but The Apocalypse Machine was great live.

It's the only album without an LP release.
Gaping hole in the set, like.   :-\

I just listened to the Burden demo for the first time in twenty years. It's rough around the edges and has a naïvety to the composition in places, but the two songs are very good. With a beer production they could fit nicely alongside the songs on Dust, despite not exactly being of the same high calibre. I have to revisit the other demo because I never got into it in the same way. There is an out of tune guitar that just tortures my ears.

It's a tough listen alright

New stuff in the works, moving at a glacial pace as always. Should hopefully have something to show later in the year.

Class man. No rush, especially with the new configuration. Getting the right sound is the most important thing.

I've always been a huge fan of AMC and have listened to it as much if not more than the others. To be frank I've never picked up on any production issues but maybe as a non musician I'm less clued in in that regard. I think the whole thing sounds colossal. Maybe a bit bloated but even that 20 odd minute track 'Nothing...' (if I'm recalling the title right) has some unreal moments in it. I think in retrospect this era was the band at the height of their creative powers, or perhaps just maturing in to it, given how strong the next two releases were they was certainly no decline.

Good to hear there is new stuff being worked on but I won't worry either way how it turns out. Long time now since their more active years.

Pound for pound the best Irish metal band ever. Primordial have too much watery beige stuff out now to challenge them.

Just threw Formless on the turntable this morning for the first time in ages. What an absolute beast of an album. Greatest metal record ever from Ireland

I dunno lads, they're all good but Dust is their absolute pinnacle for me. It was one of the first records I bought and still can't get enough.
