And while I agree that Smith's writing was sorely missed from Maiden in the 90s, Gers adds a lot of stuff to the writing process himself, he uses lots of off-kilter approaches and adds an extra angle to much of Maiden's newer material. And he's just not dead weight, if he was then the band wouldn't have kept him around. He's great fun to watch live.

I find him absolutely cringeworthy live TBH. 'Oh look, he's got the guitar behind his head again. What a showman.' No.

"Meesa Jar-Jar Gers! Hey 'Arry, meesa hit me in head with guitar! Meesa soo wacky!"

S.O.D.- Live at Budokan ('92 or '93?). A guilty pleasure this, just love the guitar tone Scott Ian had here. As for Billy Milano, watch for 2.14...OUCH!.

Was watching this again the other day. Full gig is on youtube complete with shite sound.

Ah here, Gers is a waste of space. If anything I find his writing to be from the Maiden textbook of song writing. What tracks has he added this unique angle to?

And on stage he looks like a complete spa, the rest of the band look cool and he's spazzing out on the flanks like a complete gimp.

Deadly, had tickets for this gig but couldn't make it. Went to them in London, and saw them with ISIS last year at the Caleb memorial
