I've been so annoyed lately by general everything that my thoughts now come to me in gang vocals.

Who genuinely wants, as in will actually use, freebie posters one all too often gets with vinyl these days?? Just seems a totally pointless additional waste. Should be an opt in. I don't need a load of folded pieces of massive glossy paper, thanks.

Why is it that you need to show your C19 vaccination cert if you want to go into your local pub/coffee shop/brothel/restaurant/etc. but you don't have to do so going into a gym?

A few things here;

1. A coffee shop employee asked me for it as I got to the door.
2. I have been to exactly one pub since the rules were relaxed and as I pulled out my phone to show the barman he just said "I'll trust that you have it, you're grand"
3. Maybe other gyms are checking but in the one that I go to, I just swipe in and that's it - you only have to wear a mask as you enter/exit.

Was up in Paris on Saturday and had to show it to have lunch sitting outside. I knew ahead that this was the case, but it's absolutely ridiculous. French government deserves every single one of its anti-vax trouble makers.

Two of my local pubs (and probably the rest of the pubs in town) don't ask for proof, they're just happy to get the custom.

I know a couple of people working in different restaurants and they're not asking people either.

Up north seems like business as usual with nightclubs rammed with students.

All while wearing no masks, but then you have to out one on to go into the supermarket

Me, for one!

Ya, I've a few of them up but only classics. Not arsed putting everything up.

And then from 22nd of next month it's all gone out the window anyway. Madness. As I said in this or another thread, wasn't asked to show anything while flying last month. Have been in a few pubs and haven't been asked either.

It's the only way I would have ever got posters from the likes of Jag Panzer and Holy Moses up on the walls of the cave.

The Nirvana "Nevermind" 30th anniversary box-sets are priced at €135 for the CD version and between €210-250 for the vinyl version (unclear yet because production issues have meant it won't be out till 2022).

Who the fuck is this thing aimed at? 50 year olds who work in offices and never gave two fucks about buying the record the first time (or any time) around?

The 20th Anniversary edition is €8 in Golden Discs.

I'd pick that up for 8 quid. Must tip to golden discs

"New album dropping soon"...

At what point did albums stop getting "released" and start getting "dropped"?

The lingo is changing for the worse I'm afraid, Anything done decisively or with authority is now performed 'like a boss', and a simple arrival is now 'rocking up'. I refuse to use either of those phrases, or the one you mentioned above.

All the fawning over Nevermind and it's 'genius' on the various op-eds written by clueless hacks since yer man and his court case is wrecking my head. Is it a seminal album? Maybe, and I did love it and rode the arse clean off it as chap, but the H&M shirts, Grohl and the retrospective and cynical mickey sucking taints it.

Grohl can fuck right off but I wouldn't let all that shit stuff ruin the music. I still listen to Nirvana regularly because of all the great tunes. Might be a time and place thing I guess, as in I doubt it would make the same impression now

I've no problem with any of those phrases, just genuinely curious as to when and how that change came about. Could be more of an American thing, now that I think about it.
