It's the paradox of eternal damnation. If you were damned to eternity you'd already be there because eternity doesn't have a beginning nor an end point.

Yeah the old eternity is genuinely mind melting stuff. I often find myself wondering about say if the universe is infinite, where is that going on? And if it isn't infinite what is outside of that? No wonder people pick a god and stick with it.

It's going on around us. If it's all just an endless series of big bangs, is this universe a unique moment in time, or has such a universe existed before?

This belongs absolutely nowhere else and doesn't really warrant a big discussion,  just came across it and thought it was gas

That video is situated on the very brink of a veritable rabbit-chasm!

Is there even such thing as time as we see it? The infinity thing might mean that this has all happened before an infinite number of times and is happening now an infinite number of times and will happen an infinite number of times after this. Infinity is my favourite head melter of all and I give it a few minutes thought pretty much every day. One of the craziest things is that no one can explain it but at the same time it can be condensed to a single unit with a symbol for equations. Brilliant.

That's class and sort of unsettling. AI versions of things are always sort of creepy. Like Google Dreaming for example. reminds me of salvia

I just received in the post a free calendar from EWTN, a Catholic tv station from Irondale, Alabama.
Postage was over 5 dollars, any wonder they're also looking donations from the 'eternal word television network family'.
It is a nice calender though...

That Spar ad. Mute the tv when it's on, and you've got a trailer for a film about a serial killing Christmas tree.

This is absolutely huge news, both for molecular biology and machine learning:

The Great Conjunction didn't look the grandest through the thick clouds. Always the fucking same with the astronomical phenomena in this country

Yeah, I was hoping to get a look at it too. And the sky was clear yesterday of course

And would you believe it I just went out for a fag and not a cloud in the sky. Maybe we'll catch the next one..
