I used to listen to the odd JR podcast before he went to Spotify. He had a great knack for interviewing people, that's his biggest skill, which I think is being glided over. I have no interest in defending him because he seems to have given plenty of airtime to dodgy dealers, and doesn't have the insight to be able to challenge them where needed, but I think the reason he became so popular is that his show is often very engaging. He interviews all sorts so much of it was not of any interest to me, but some of the episodes I listened to were great craic.

I'd be with you there. I used to listen to Rogan on and off. Found it decent craic and interesting if you were prepared not to take everything as gospel. Shortly after he endorsed Trump and the subsequent election I stopped tuning in. Not because I'd be ideologically against that side but it felt the discourse was leaning too much towards that one side and I'm not interested in divisive, partisan shit at this stage of my life.

On the AI thing.... I'm not sure how it will all play out. If you are employed by tech, for sure you will be on the chopping block. I work two jobs/careers. One in agriculture and one in healthcare. AI ain't gonna dose lambs or dagg the dirty arses of ewes, wean, shear, dip, fence, pull lambs at birth etc etc etc. In healthcare its all an inefficient mess and in my corner of it much of that is on purpose. People are fucking around doing full time 'jobs' 40 hours a week with nearly nothing to show for it. It's going on years. It's a jobs for the boys scenario. I got paid a few quid today to fill out some horseshit questionnaire from some medical research company. Pure waffle and time wasting but everyone involved is getting paid. Think of the lads in county council offices! We will dream up some way to keep being 'employed', AI or not.

I just woke up from a dream in which I was playing my first gig with a new band. Cazz Grant was introducing us to the crowd of three or four people , saying, maybe don't bother watching the first bit, wait till they've warmed up a bit, but don't watch the end where everyone is a bit bored. Just watch the middle bit, because that bit will be good 

Then we start, and the stage is huge and I can't remember a single riff and I'm looking at the other guitarist, trying to figure out what's going on. I'm giving out saying we should have had a jam, and he replies that he was too busy with his job in the bank to jam, but he still knows the songs!

I'm just thinking, do I have to wing an entire fucking gig!

Funnily enough I've had that same dream, in terms of doing a gig but forgetting every riff and worrying I just have to wing it. Fairly recently too, like within the past year.

I have that as a recurring dream, various scenarios (sometimes an Era V reunion, sometimes having been called in to play for like Sepultura or Metallica or something), but always some variation of being excited to get on stage and then, at the crucial moment on stage, suddenly realizing either I don't know a single note of the tunes, or have completely forgotten how to play a tune I used to know, or sometimes realize I've forgotten how to play altogether
