Is social media dying off a bit, or is it just calming down after an initial massive explosion?

Logged onto Facebook for the first time in months earlier, scrolled through 76(yes I counted ) suggested posts/promoted posts/random videos before I found something one of my mates put up

Got rid of twitter last year after it went to utter shit after the Musk takeover, and I only keep instagram for getting news on gig announcements

Just from talking to a few other people it seems the idea of posting your entire life is fading, and if you want to contact someone it's gone back to ringing or texting. Could just be my age either, I'm sure there still hordes of the younger generation that feel the complete opposite!

It never ceases to amaze me, generally, that anyone votes for Tories over there. In light of the state of the fucking place now, after 14 catastrophic years and 5 (possibly 6?) of the most inept and dishonest PMs of all time, it still looks like the cunts will get about 20% of the vote. How could anyone logically think "Yeah, we need more of this"?

Has anyone seen this shite that's potentially coming down the line. So this new deposit scheme for plastic bottles that they have rolled out, now the waste providers are complaining that because we are not putting the plastic bottles into our green bins at home their profits are being affected so bin charges are going up potentially, so we will not pay twice? I mean what the fucking fuck? So now if you choose do do the right thing and avoid the charges by not buying plastic bottles you still get fucked over, and they wonder why people dump stuff illegally?
