More David Sylvian. Lovely tunage.

Yet another song that features Danny Thompson from Pentangle on the double bass.  ;)

Interesting..seems like I have plenty to explore.

Ah yeah, that's my nerdy bass player coming out is all really.

Never gave Japan (Sylvian's first band) a go. But love their track Ghosts. Must investigate further. Such a unique, dramatic voice.

€32 including postage. You struck lucky man, getting it for €25 all in.  because I live the Republic and was only getting it delivered from Dublin. But whatever, haven't bought a record in a few weeks.

Thanks for recommendation sir. It's rare I'll buy an album on vinyl before hearing it once, especially if it's an artist I haven't heard before.

There's a docu film came out about Basho recently, I'm really interested to watch it. It seems he was a really unique kind of lad, a true individual. The Japanese and Indian elements in his music fused with that American folk with native influences stuff. I'm awful with genres but I know greatness when I hear it. In a modern world filled with mock emotion, how good is it to hear something that is real.

He was an orphan, believed he was the reincarnation of the Japanese poet Basho and died on a chiropractor's table at 45.

Listening to "All Saints", a collection of Bowie instrumentals and I might have mentioned it here before but anyway it's great having them all collected in this fashion

Hadn't heard of that but it sounds brilliant. Side two of Low is my favourite Bowie material TBH, nice to see it well represented.

The Low stuff is standout on the disc but that is in no way saying the rest of it is not top notch. Crystal Japan is something special and if you are familiar with NIN you will notice that Reznor also thought a lot of it to say the least..

Onto the list it goes. I might do a supercut, adding the material omitted for the commercial release.

I love the way he did that real contrast of album sides on Low and Heroes. It shouldn't really work, but it absolutely does. All of the hits stacked early, and then goes totally experimental. Neukoln on Heroes is great, with him playing that droning saxophone note at the end.

Really enjoyed this. Always liked Japan but never bothered much with his solo stuff. Seems that might have been an error!
