The single is much better than I expected. Still hesitant about a full album. We'll see if I have the arse to put it on later.

Have this and the Lankum album on the cards for tonight. May go get beer I suppose

So I listened to both the Depeche Mode and Lankum albums.

Depeche Mode seem to have cracked out their best effort for quite some time. Haven't really rated much of it since Playing the Angel tbf so it's a welcome surprise.

False Lankum is pretty much the logical progression from The Livelong Day, though I dunno if it'll turn out to be better than it. It's not radically different at first listen, maybe a bit more downbeat.

Anyway good stuff the both of them

There's a neverending drone loop etched into the end of the new Lankum album (i.e. stylus goes round and round on it indefinitely). Only other one of these I know of from before are the original pressings of Sgt.Pepper's, which have a weird chant loop etched into the end. Out of pure curiosity, any others out there anyone knows of?

Not what you're looking for at all but I had a copy of Mastodon's Blood Mountain at one point with an almost perfect skip in it about 1:40 into Capillarian Crest that made that riff loop infinitely and in time.  I used to have to hit the table to knock the stylus forward and keep the album going.

Ah, don't have it. Good to know though; gets me up to a pretty interesting thematic trio of albums!

Godflesh s/t EP ends in a locked groove.

Ah, so it has a proper name! Nice one, now I can look up some more handily enough I guess.

Locked or closed groove, I think. I know there are others I was aware of but I'm drawing a blank.

The best variation on this I've heard of is the Monty Python album that had two grooves with separate starting points, resulting in two completely different albums on the same side.

My copy of Hey What by Low definitely has it on I think the A side. Another excuse to dig it out for a spin there sure.

From what I've read, NON have used this on several occasions but I don't have the vinyls to confirm that

My Kid A has it. It loops on that boing sound that starts the National Anthem.
