Expanded edition coming out for the 40th Anniversary. I think I'll pick it up, it was my least played Slayer album for a while but it's nearly become my favourite - between the production and the song structures it sounds like them and unlike anything they've done before or since.

I think the live record included is what's tempting me most - underrated gems like Kill Again etc included

Exact same slipmat as the show no mercy 40th anniversary...lazy cunts.

I just looked at the price of the CD edition... Over 60 quid sterling. No interest in how it is packaged, so hopefully they will release a more budget friendly edition at some stage as Id quite like that live stuff.

60 quid essentially for a live disc? Get fucked. We all have the album.

The show no mercy box was a disgrace essentially just an added booklet and slip cover for the price of a box set. Rip off, at least this includes a live album and it's not that much more expensive then what they were charging for show no mercy.

Apart from the title track I've never liked that album, but I'd be curious about the live discs. Not €60 curious though.

In fairness, At Dawn They Sleep is a savage tune too. Anyways you could always traverse the high seas for those live discs. I'm sure they'll show up

Ah no it's gold from start to finish, some real underrated gems on it Crypts of Eternity and Hardening of The Arteries - the record finishing with the intro returning - genius.

Love this album, it would be a good to album for me. I already have it on cd and vinyl though, so couldn't be arsed getting yet another copy. Cool set list though

Best Slayer album IMO. Don't like any other of their albums Apart from this,  SNM and RIB.

Was listening to this today, what with talk of reissue. Absolutely love it. I don't get why people moan about the production. I have an original CD and its sounds class. Nice and dynamic....and I love that the bass is very prominent. The reverb on Araya's voice on Praise Of Death is deadly  :abbath:

Whichever gets named as the best out of first four, there is no controversy. This is how good this run was. And don't forget "Haunting the chapel".

As complete releases, 'Live Undead' & 'RIB' are favourites of mine

83 to 88 is such a great run

Possibly stretch to 91 with 'Decade Of Aggression'
As good as Seasons is, I think they started losing their edge then
