About 20 years ago I went round to Patchett's place a couple of times; he gave me one of his paintings that hadn't been finished and had been in his shed for ages. Even though it's a work in progress it's still pretty cool to have.

What! That's an amazing story, how did you come to know him? Can you post a picture of the painting?

Not an image, but an artist as I stick on Nevermore's "This Godless Endeavour" - Hugh Syme. Gawd, I fucking hate every cover he's been involved in (bar the colouration of "Youthanasia"), which as a massive Rush fan, sucks.

In not a fan of Patchett's style but I do like the Forest of Equilibrium cover mostly because of the savage music contained within.

I think I just looked up his website and he had his contact details there so I gave him a ring. This was in 2007 though.

Turns out he lived not that far away from me so went down to visit him a couple of times. He showed me what he was working on, his portfolio of work etc.

I'll try and dig the painting out and photo it if I can work out how to post images on here, might take a while though.

Take a chance, take a chance, take a chance, take a chance....

First two Autopsy are up there with my favourite DM albums ever and I will never listen to that record based solely on the album cover.

Could be as good as Mental Funeral for all I know and I wouldn't bother.

This. Apart from the praise for the first two albums, I can't listen to any pre-split Autopsy. Total rubbish.

Anything scatological disgusts me on priciple, so this could be the equal of Leprosy but I'll never know.

"Total rubbish" in relation to the first 2 is simply not in anyway correct or true.

Nothing worse than soggy cornflakes.

Mainly adding these to get away from the dreaded cornflakes
