They could absolutely do a re/Load tour, they can play whatever they want at this stage.

Just had a look at the setlists and they played 10 post-Black Album tunes across both nights, compare that to Megadeth who have played essentially the same set for 20 years, just replacing the previous albums two singles for the new albums two singles.

At Slane all the people around me went apeshit for Frantic, they're too big to fail.

Quote from: Ollkiller on June 22, 2026, 03:24:13 PMAs regards ticket prices 190 for both shows was the most reasonable I've seen for an act that big in ages.

It was €220 including the TM fees. In the grand scheme of things not that bad by todays standards. TM also made getting the tickets you wanted a nightmare. I think single day tickets were pricy seen some last year on sale for 160. I can't remember if that was a resale with the additional TM fees.

Did anyone on here get that luxury VIP thing with the back stage tour / meet and greet? If so how was it? Was anyone in the snakepit for either of the shows?

Some of the fans are such sycophantic cocksockets for Papa Het & Co. that a St. Anger set would still do gangbusters.

Crown Of Barbed Wire and Chasing Light on 72 seasons are 2 brilliant tracks.Would be far better live than anything else off that album.Reload has some underrated tracks.Devils Dance,Fixxxer,Where The Wild Things Are would all be great live.Load has tracks better than Until It Sleeps.Bleeding Me and The Outlaw Torn are quality.

First time seeing Metallica and it was a great gig(Sunday)good crowd, good weather and more importantly a nice mix of old stuff and not too much new stuff.
The sound was good much better than Gojira's although it improved a bit towards the end off their set,Mario is a beast of a drummer.

I also like Hero of the day and Mama Said. Still i wouldn't be mad keen on going to a Metallica gig that was mainly devoted to both of those albums

Great night again on Sunday, feeling the age today and my neck got a hammering. It exceeded my expectations.

You could probably make one decent album from Death Magnetic, Hardwired & 72 Seasons combined. Chop a bit off some of the songs and change the production because all 3 albums are nigh on unlistenable.

I really liked the sound of Load & Reload, especially the drum sound.

Went both nights and absolutely enjoyed each night, must make me one of those sycophantic fanboy types.was looking around me young and old totally enjoying themselves. Ticket wasn't a rip off, show was spectacular, this band has been part of my life for going on 40 odd years now. Some might not realise that metal had become a laughingstock until this band and few others came along and made it relevant to those looking for something to latch onto and this from a guy who listening to strictly punk back than. Have enjoyed the journey ever since than. Some people around here forget that music is intertwined with whole life , highs and lows theirs and mine. Sycophantic fanboy out.🤘🏽

Well said , some daft cunts on here with their elitist shite. Great weekend , these guys are the biggest metal band arguably ever. Like you ive been listening to them for 40 years on and off,  delighted to see them again for realistically one of their last appearances here. Great to see young and old enjoying them. Dont ever see a load reload type tour, realistically no one really wants to see that.

It would be very hard for a band the scale of Metallica to step back, I think. You're a business, how many people are dependent on them for their income, which all dries up when they stop the machine.

I'm not talking about anyone here. I'm talking about the sort of dribbling fanboys who cannot find a difference in quality between Master of Puppets and St. Anger because having "Metallica" printed on the label automatically makes it the greatest thing ever recorded.

I'm talking about the sort of fanboys who have to be asked not to wear their crusty "birth, school, Metallica, death" t-shirt to every family occasion and are borderline upset about it.

I'm talking about the sort of fanboys who are insulted when you ask them what other bands are you into because how very dare anyone listen to a band who aren't Metallica.

I'm talking about the fanboys who hear the "Metallica Family" nonsense and believe it's about them.

I'm talking about grown men in their 50s who have made Metallica their entire personality since their teens.

But as inferred by my original statement (congrats on getting your knickers in a twist and not engaging your brains for a second, by the way), if ye want to pay good money for a St. Anger gig, then fill your boots.

So you're talking about a person you've made up?

For the record, I would throw money at a Load/Reload heavy tour/setlist after having seen Metallica over a dozen times. Fuck it, play The House That Jack Built two times, I say!

This is the first gig(s) where I looked around and really noticed so many late teens / early 20s guys and girls having the time of their lives (which indicates I have began the crossing over the river styx). No setlist academia, debating the merits of playing X song before Y song, etc. Just some lads hearing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" for the first time and thinking "that's a bit class". You need that positivity in the world!!
