Not much details on it yet, just this update on Jeff Loomis' Instagram, Van Williams back on drums:

Going to be impossible to replace Warrel Dane, but I'd be delighted to hear new music from Loomis (if thats the plan) and not just a solo or two that he was stuck doing in Arch Enemy

Wonder what sorta job Matt Barlow could do for Nevermore? Didnt he do band with Van Williams? Maybe an option?

Dicey one going by the 'Nevermore' bandname. Obviously ya can see why Loomis etc would want to do that from an emotional and a practical standpoint, but jesus.

I'd imagiine for huge chunk of their listeners Dane's vocals = Nevermore and without that...well.

Personally now, I'd rather it wasn't another 'name' vocalist Matt Barlow as @Despondent_Soul2 mentioned. That'd be a bit 'NeverEarth'/
'IcedMore'. The latter sounds delicious all the same.

No, I'd prefer they got someone ya wouldn't except like Steve Perry   Nah. You know what I mean though.

Most important thing is that it isn't shitty auld boy 'I used to be in Nevermore ya know' bum bum metal. Hope they're doing it cos they've got something they need to say musically, not 'yeah Wacken mainstage is a bit of raic and a nice few bob as well'.

Wouldn't be holding my breath for something amazing, but it'd be great to be surprised.

I'm firmly in the "no Dane, no Nevermore" camp.

I love Loomis' solo stuff and Conquering Dystopia, but appreciate they don't have the same sort of visibility as Nevermore.

I'm sure they can find someone to do a decent cover job on vocals, but Dane was such a brilliant lyricist to go with them

Suppose it's a case of waiting to see what they're actually doing, is it a new album or just touring like Pantera

Given me an excuse to have another run through their discography anyway

I hope it isn't Matt Barlow, he's always sounded like he's a power metal vocalist from South Park. "Oh how I loved you, the pain won't go awwwaaaayyy".

Actually can really imagine Matt Barlow staccatto his way through WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THEY BUILT A LAD-DER TO HEAV-EN.

You know the way he bollocks on. "Lies, fool-ish lies. Be-hind your brain-washed eyes." Brainwashed eyes. Mother of jaysis.

Actually though...what about Tim RIPPER Owens for the Nevermore gig?

Did I see Sanctuary have gigged with a new lad recently? I possibly imagined it, lots of old bands with new singers about at the moment.

I think the singer's been in the band for 5-6 years now, I know there's been a couple of tours, but no word of an album.

Yeah, Sanctuary have been back at it for ages. I wouldn't trust Loomis these days. Worst case scenario it's a hologram of Warrel churning out an AI reproduction of his vocal style.

In what way? That he'll be treating it as a pure cash grab, or not able to put out anything decent?

No one can fill the great man's boots vocally and lyrically...I'm apprehensive but I'll be open to seeing how this goes.
Wearing jeans and leather, not crackerjack clothes

Loomis missed out on calling it 'Sentient 6' which would have been more acceptable.

I'm in the category of no Dane, no nevermore....same as Sepultura hasn't been the real one since the mid 90s  ;D  ;)

I don't blame Loomis for taking a "steady" regular income after Nevermore but hopefully he is ready now and can muster up some cool riffs.
