"Embrace Death" is an exclusively interview-based magazine that aims to support everything worthwhile in the contemporary underground extreme metal. The magazine has risen from the ashes of the "From the Bowels of Perdition" webzine (formerly "Towards the Inevitable"), which ceases to exist as this very announcement is being posted.

"Embrace Death" is a professionally printed publication, in full colour, on 115 gsm paper of the highest quality, with covers printed on 200 gsm glossy paper.

The first issue of the magazine (available via the "Embrace Death" webstore: https://embracedeath.rip/) features introspective, in-depth interviews with the following bands:

• Stress Angel
• Drowned
• Malokarpatan
• Funereal Presence
• Thy Darkened Shade
• Sweven
• Mortuous
• Phrenelith
• Qrixkuor
• Predatory Light
• Sijjin
• Nekromantheon
• Cryptic Shift
• Verminous Serpent

"Embrace Death is a fantastic publication with thought-out questions that make the interviews stand out and keep it interesting for both the interviewee and the reader. Sösö puts a lot of passion into his work which shows not only in the way he approaches his interviews but also in the aesthetics of the zine. Overall, it's an absolute joy to follow what he does with the zine."
Anastasis Valtsanis (Dead Congregation)

"I was always very picky in terms of webzines and actual zines. I demand a certain level of seriousness and dedication. It is obvious that we offer our very souls to our black art. Therefore, when someone speaks or writes to me about Thy Darkened Shade I can only take it seriously when I understand that there is more than a fiery passion and adoration behind the words used to describe it. When I first got the interview by Embrace Death I was very pleased to answer the questions. Apart from the fact that I felt a deadly passion behind them, I also believed that they were different and, of course, very interesting to answer. Last but not least, it was one of the first zines that didn't mindlessly speak about our influences and mentioned Magma, that was certainly something I appreciated too."
Semjaza (Thy Darkened Shade)

"Unlike the standard interviews that usually scratch the surface with all the expected inquiries about band biography, studio and live routines, Embrace Death can place the interviewee into positions they might not have thought of themselves previously. This can then lead to an unexpectedly personal experience, or at least one that touches elements of their music or themselves, that would otherwise remain in the dark."
Adam Sičák (Malokarpatan)

Just ordered one of these, stoked to see a new printed publication

Really impressive mag. I've read it cover to cover. Well, I gave up on the Cryptic Shift interview because I find sci-fi topics tedious especially when it gets into world building, but most of the other interviews were informative and entertaining. The finish on the magazine is top notch as well. A big and expensive undertaking I imagine so I hope it sells well and you can get issue number 2 out.

Ha, reminds me of talking to the Cryptic Shift lads at the bar after the gig in Dublin and the conversation was just veering that way when I pulled the plug and said I had to get my bus

 just not my bag. Their music sounded decent in fairness.

Yep, mine's coming by Serbia Post. Big clue!

Cool, I was wondering there. I usually get Zero Tolerance, think they're finished though as I've heard no news of a new issue.

from elsewhere:

"Important info: the shitty news from this morning is that all the parcels sent to Ireland - Dublin excluded - cannot be delivered due to some unidentified reason with the Irish post and are sent back to me. I'm trying to figure out what the issue is, but until further notice, the orders from Ireland won't be allowed."

anyone know why this might be? Did many of ye order from him outside Dublin?

To people from this forum who have ordered the mag - please, check your emails. Thank you.

I'll have to head down to the Post Office tomorrow to see what the problem is but I'm not expecting much more than a blank stare. Disappointing. And a little baffling.

Well, as expected, a wholly fruitless expedition, basically told to contact head office in Dublin. The blank stare however was more of a look of trepidation when she copped the name of the mag on the email I showed her. No doubt the whole village thinks I'm looking into getting a spot of euthanasia done by now.

Yeah, I'm outside Dublin,  I used the online support thingy on the An Post website, and after explaining the issue multiple times over, she said she couldn't help and told me to email customs instead. That was this morning, still no reply, not expecting one either, so no idea what's going on, sigh...

I wonder does this have to do with these new GSPR rules I've been seeing mentioned?basically it seems.to be fucking a lot of  non EU small businesses sending stuff to the EU, including publishers..dunno if that extends to magazines also?I dont fully understand it tbh but it comes into effect this week
