John Coltrane - Blue Train

Miles Davis - Round About Midnight

Was driving a friend to the airport last night and these were a great late night soundtrack.

The Jesus Lizard Club, fuck yer FNM's and SOAD's this is top tier

Low - I could live in hope

Over and over again for the last couple of months

Plus Moundabout - Flowers Rot, Bring me Stones

Turbonegro - all of it. Very much enjoying working my way through their discography and back again.

There was an almost cultlike following for them in Galway when I was living there, all the local punk/hardcore heads were massive fans. Could never get my head around it, I can't stand them myself.

Yeah, funnily enough I noticed the Galway Turbo-jugends in Hellfest years ago.
Turbonegro are great craic live in fairness to them.

Been on a wild 70s rock binge the last week. Aerosmith and ZZ Top fairly get you moving. And Foghat are surprisingly way better than I expected them to be.

Aerosmith's Rocks album in particular has been getting a lashing.

Teeth Of The Sea.....

Lads, get on this!

A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. is a mighty tune, but the rest of that album (Your Mercury) was a bit hit & miss. Left it at that.

It is indeed. I have Highly Deadly Black Tarantula on LP, but give all their output regular spins...

I have the first 4 albums but never listened to anything after HDBT. Must give them a spin.

The Beatles - Revolver (60 yrs old today  :abbath: )

I listened to "Revolver" (and "Abbey Road"/"Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band") a few times over the last week or ten days. Not because of the former's anniversary - I just hadn't pulled those records down from the shelf in a few months.

Even at 60 years of distance "Revolver" still has something to say. It definitely beats "Sgt. Pepper" - although when I was 15 I would fought tooth and nail that "Sgt. Pepper" was the best album by The Beatles.

My only gripe is the placement of "Yellow Submarine". I would swap it back one place in the running order with the song it follows - "Here There & Everywhere".
