I'd still choose Sgt. Pepper's over it, personally. Top 3 would prob be Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, Revolver. Speaking of 'Yellow Submarine', Sgt. Pepper's also imo has the least annoying out of the three respective Ringo tunes ('With A Little Help From My Friends') :laugh:

Ha! That's 100% on the money about "With A Little Help From My Friends".

The more that I've listened to "Sgt. Pepper" the less interesting I've found it. Don't misunderstand me - I still love that record but I've lost something from it. Perhaps due to over-familiarity.

Circumstances helped save me from prolonged over-familiarity: never bought it on CD, so after a childhood of it being my most listened to album by far, once my folks' record player went kaput and me aul wan wasn't bothered repairing or fixing it, since she was happy out with the radio and the telly, there was a couple of decades where I barely listened to it at all. And glad for it I am; wouldn't want to be getting tired of my first fatal hit of overdriven guitars and vocals!  8)

Tomorrow Never Knows still sounds futuristic now, I can't even imagine how mind-boggling it must have been to hear in 1966.

If I had to order the top 3 I'd probably go Abbey Road, Revolver, and Sgt Peppers. They're all 10/10 albums though, so interchangeable really in terms of quality. They've all been no.1 for me at some point or another, and probably will be again.

I'd swap Sgt Pepper for Rubber Soul but the other two are top 3 for sure. Revolver is sublime. I remember taking a detour heading to the ferry after going to Bloodstock to sneak around the graveyard in Woolton with a torch in the wee hours looking for Eleanor Rigby's grave :abbath:

My top 3 are "Rubber Soul", "Revolver" and "Abbey Road" also but, in what order, I can never decide.

Picked up Radiohead's "OK Computer" (OK_NOT_OK version) at the weekend.

I am very familiar with this record but I hadn't listened to it in a long while. I got genuine goosebumps at a few points and I found myself on the verge of tearing up during the vocal harmony midway though "Paranoid Android".

It's such a deadly album. The mastering is excellent on this reissue too.

Rubber Soul, to my ears, is better than what went before, but still more comparable to that than to everything that was coming round the corner. And even though I prefer Abbey Road overall, not only does Sgt. Pepper's have the least annoying Ringo tune, I think it also has their strongest opener and strongest closer.

No love for The White Album?! That's their best imo. It has a great mix of heavy, beautiful and daft songs. Even Ringo's tune, Don't Pass Me By, isn't half bad.

Not a fan of Don't Pass Me By. Even less a fan of Ob-La-Di. I could go on. Course, it has more bangers than misses, even a couple of all time top 10 Beatles' tunes, but it's just such an absurd "album" as a whole, I tend not to even compare it to the others of that era.

As for the White Album, only reason I didn't mention it is because I only got into it recently,so it's a bit early for me at least to rank it up with the others. I'm certainly enjoying it as much as the others though!
