Very wishy washy pop rock is what I have in my head. Not a band I'd have expected to hit the big time from what I remember.

I side with Mr. Kimble in this argument

My apologies, I erroneously referred to them as a milder version of Bush when, in fact, I meant a slightly heavier Corrs.

Jees lads youse are very touchy about The Devlins, did I hit a nerve there?

Not really, no. I get the overall 'spirit' of the thread which is to refer to music that, while obviously not metal, is somewhat metal adjacent or failing that, of sufficient quality that the typical forum user might be inclined to check out.
Basically, I'll just refer back to a previous user who had the temerity to suggest that Jamiroquai had any redeeming qualities when the general consensus suggests otherwise. Let's just call a spade a spade here, it's garbage.

The Devlins or Jamiroquai? If you had to be stuck with one or the other?

What is the best song by each? I only know two songs of Jamiroquai and none of the Devlins

I suppose I might be better off not knowing. One day I picked up a copy of the best of U2. Two discs for a euro in dealz. Every time I go to take it out of the plastic I just think what's the point and leave it

Looks like I hit a nerve there alright, keep eating the Quiche lads

'Waiting' by The Devlins is a good song.
... just an inoffensive, soft, acousticy song.
I'd say that's all you need.

'Emergency On Planet Earth' by Jamiroquai is a good album.
... the bassist is great on it.
You'd need to like funk, & try to ignore Jay Kay's hats

His two 'x-rated' albums that he only sold at shows. They're both on YouTube though. Good oul craic. A bit puerile at times, like a country version of Steel Panther, but good for an immature laugh. Check out the tracks Lovelace, or Three Biggest Lies for a taste.

Listened to 'Texas Moon' earlier today.  There are some of his banned songs on archive.org. Yes, agree they are pretty puerile good for an occasional listen only.

I've  been listening to Gary Stewart the last while, it's taken me a while but his 'warbly' vocal style is starting to sound better.

Gary Stewart is class, my father was a big fan. Recently read an article which may be of some interest:
