Bad Moon/Evol/Sister is a hell of a run alright, the eeriness of the first two in particular is amazing. I've been playing Confusion is Sex a lot as well lately, which is another lifelong favourite.

I know it's an unpopular opinion cos it's their "rock" record but I still think Dirty is their finest hour. As incredible as their abstract stuff is, how they welded that to straight ahead (relatively) songwriting on that record is impressive. Theresa Sound World and Wish Fulillment are two of my favourite songs ever.

Dirty is great, I reach for it every now and again, I just played it to death back in the day.

100% agree about Dirty (sorry  )

It was my second SY album (after Washing Machine, which I never really warmed to - edit - I do remember enjoying The Diamond Sea, and Panty Lies being good demented, so I might give it a revisit this evening), and what hooked me. Teresa's Sound World and Wish Fulfilment are fucking beautiful. Would put Chapel Hill and Youth Against Fascism up there with them too, but overall there's barely a duff note on the album.

I just had to get Dirty didn't I, now don't be touching my breasts I'm just working at my desk.

Spot on. Daydream Nation is a great album, but I much prefer Dirty. The 2 songs you mentioned and Sugar Kane are some of the best the band ever wrote.

Dirty is great. The run from Confusion Is Sex up to that is unreal. Had Goo on yesterday, as it so happen.

Mildred Pierce is heavier than a ten Guinness poo.

What's their heaviest album overall ?

Depends. For raw attack I'd say Confusion in so far as it's on par with early Swans for raw, noise laden primitive violence in places. If Swans of that period were like being steamrollered, think of "Confusion" as like being electrocuted.

In terms of dread and a dark mood, I'd say "Bad Moon Rising".
